:sk: seem to be back on track after last year's snoozefest. :) This is quite a powerful song and rather innovative for the contest  but I can't be sure whether the live performance would inhance it or hinder, giving 10 so far. :D

With a good performance i definitely think this could qualify, and he seems to be a pretty energetic performer, so...

It's better than most Rock songs that Belarus has sent in the past. I have to listen to it again but my first impression was "pleasant"

Eurovision said:
Max Jason Mai goes for Slovakia

On a press conference today, the Slovak public broadcaster presented the entry for the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest: Max Jason Mai will represent the Central European country in Baku with Don't Close Your Eyes!

A young and talented star will represent Slovakia this year in the Eurovision Song Contest: Max Jason Mai (MJM) was born on November 27th, 1988, and he is a rock musician, singer-songwriter and rhythm guitarist.

He describes himself as someone who "loves people with a sense of humour and the good things in life", like music, sports, yoga, love, and nature. Talking about his music, he cites influeces by a wide range of artists, like Led Zeppelin, Whitesnake, Alter Bridge, 30 Seconds To Mars, Dream Theater, Metallica, John Mayer, Enigma, Sade, Ennio Morricone, and even Antonin Dvorak.

In Baku, Max Jason Mai will sing Don't Close Your Eyes, the music and lyrics of which he wrote himself. The song has been produced by Michael "Elvis" Baskette, and right now the official video clip is being shot - it will be presented later this week. Meanwhile you can check out the song below!

Max Jason Mai has been internally selected to represent Slovakia in the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest for being charming and having the ability to surprise Europe with "a crazy stage performance and an energetic rock song". Will he manage to conquer the hearts of the European TV viewers and start an international career? We shall find out in May!

This song is just not for me, but I think it's a proper, ok-ish song for its genre. I got impression this guy really really sings with passion - appreciated.
It would be interesting to hear it in Slovakian, but oh well... I think it has good chance of qualifying (depends on performance a lot), but if rock lovers watch Eurovision, I guess they could support it;)
5 points.

He should sing half naked in Baku -O-

I never saw a live performance of his, but I don't think EBU would allow it. It's a family show, after all. He will go properly dressed.

I'm so into this rock anthem. TWiiNS's "I'm Still ALive" and now this. I love Slovakia. 10 points. xcheer1

It's quite good but it reminds me the 90's, 5 points from me. Anyway I want to see Slovakia in the final this year!

If he goes shirtless he'll still be showing less skin than most of the female ESC singers. But maybe unbuttoned shirt? or like Denmark last year, but the other way around.

And this song is now one of my favourites this year, great choice Slovakia! Wouldn't hurt if he gets drawn between two ballads.

I'm counting on that. Rock songs will do well among all the dance-pop and pop ballads stuff this year. Belarus will do well too.
Rock fans will be watching Eurovision Song Contest this year because of this kind of entries.
