Re: SERBIA 2019
My quick thougts on the semifinal-preformances of the 12 finalists:
1. "Da li čuješ moj glas" Sashka Janx
Something is lacking here. The only part that is exciting, except the instrumental part, is her purple hair. And her bathrobe dress....that was a choice...And what the heck, now a dress change and this 90s track comes up....Would have been decent 1999, not 2019...
2. "Budim Te" Majdan
Very 90s, kind of Oasis-rock. This feels a little tired though and very uninspired. No thanks.
3. "Aritmija" Sofija Perić
Gosh this song reminds me of something, but can't come up with what now. It is very 90s as well, but slightly better than the two before. But Sofija is though lacking a little charisma to make me win over completly. But listenable at least.
4. "Nema suza" Dženan Lončarević
This is a very old school balkan ballad, but the performance really intrigues me. But the song is a little boring in the long run though sadly. But the best so far for me.
5."Moja Bol" Wonder Strings i Ivana Vladović
This doesn't work all the way for me, but it has some nice parts. The melody is really nice and interesting. It feels very Serbian, and that is in a good way. But I don't know, maybe I expect more of a balkan ballad though.
6. "Viktorija" Jana
Zzzzz geeze, this was boring. Too much acting and not enough power for me. No, just stop.
7. "Radnički sin" Lord
When hearing this, I really don't understand a thing about this. The beat is pretty catchy, but I don't know...I don't get it. And it doesn't make me feel like I want to know more either, everything feels too amaturish for me.
8. "Kruna" Nevena Božović
Finally it is Nevenas turn! This is a really nice song and she sings it very well. I always liked Nevena (except for the time she was tricked to join a group which shouldn't be named with out this emoji next to it
) and thought that she must have the song for Eurovision soon. And maybe this one is!
9. "Lutaš" Ana Popović
*yawn* this was tired and dark. Next.
10. "Bela" Ivan Kurtić
Gosh, what is wrong with me, this is also really really similar to some song, but my head is not with me this time. This song is very interesting and I understand that the audience is clapping along to it. And the painter is actually a rather fun thing to have in background, but why hide him in the corner?! Anywho, one of the better songs in the line-up.
11. "Samo bez straha" Nataša i Una
This song felt very aggressive...but can't say it is bad. The chorus is very old school-eurovision in a way, which I don't mind actually in this case. But the rap did put me off a little.
12. "Tugo" Aleksandra Sekulić
A song that really can't decide if it wants to be jazz or balkan pop. A weird mix that just makes me tired. Nope, not for me.
So, for me it is Nevena to Tel Aviv, but I can see Ivan Kurtic being a probable winner too. Overall was this final pretty boring and hope for better next year for Serbia.
