Re: SERBIA 2019

Like Nevena's song is modern...ahahaha...

She won't win..she doesn't have enough audience to support her..unless they rig the competition and via her connecttions in RTS she is pushed ahead.. xpuke

I wouldn't be surprised, cause, this is Serbia.. xpukd

Re: SERBIA 2019

The second evening was also pretty nice, just like the first. And again, someone disappointed, someone surprised (positively) and someone managed to deliver what was expected from them.

Here are the impressions about the songs:

1. Sanya D Rio - I actually like this song, but not in an ESC context. The background was nice, but nothing could save them from elimination.

2. Majdan - Very good! I saw them as potential wildcards and they were really good. Absolutely deserved qualification.

3. Goga Stanic - Unexpected failure for me. I was sure that she will make it through. However, I have to be honest, she wasn't good at all. I believe the juries "killed" her.

4. Ana Popovic - One of the few songs that I really didn't like but one can't deny that this is pure quality. She probably ended very high in jury voting and it was enough for the final.

5. Lord - I would prefer a more dynamic staging, but he was still pretty good. The song is still my guilty pleasure and one of my favorites :D

6. Nevena Bozovic - She was beyond amazing. In fact, she left the best impression out of all semi 2 performers. She didn't try anything "exotic" and she just did what she does best. I wouldn't mind to see her winning.

7. Gypsykord - They ruined every chance for a decent result with this staging. Deserved elimination even though the song is quite catchy.

8. Jana Sustersic - Very bland song in the studio version but the performance was top-notch. Her vocals are truly amazing. She has no chances to win but this is a success as well.

9. Lana & Aldo - Well...they were entertaining at least  I liked their last year's entry better.

10. Dzenan Loncarevic - Personally, I didn't like the staging. This type of staging can be done diferently and with more style. This was not good. However, the staging will certainly change if he wins so it's not a major concern. He was top-notch vocally and he still has the best song (for me) in this bunch. So, he is still my #1 favorite.

11. Tina & Lola Amvon - Quite bland. The song is not that bad, but it's too dated for this type of competition right now. It was obvious that they have no chance at all.

12. Tamara Milanovic - I thought the juries will push her through, but I am not sad that I was wrong. The song is extremely boring and she had no place in the final. She deserves a better song than this.

So, Dzenan, Nevena, and Wonder Strings and three best options that we have right now. Saska has no chances anymore and she is the only one responsible for it. I will vote for Dzenan as he has the best song out of these three, but I will be happy with all three songs as winners at the end.

Hahaha actually that staging lifted Dzenan for me..

I love ART...I hate cliche..

Nevana Bozovic is so basic, cheesy and that English part is horrific..Nevena would flop heavily at ESC..

I hope RTS won't rig this for that Nevena...
She is also connected to SNS politic party.. yuck..

I had no idea about her and SNS. There can't be one area where they are not pulling their fingers, I guess....

This has grown on me quite a lot:

Vocals are really great..her vocals reminds me a bit of black woman.. :)

I didn't pay attention to the performance at first, but now I dig it..

Re: SERBIA 2019

I wonder what Miloš thinks about the " fascinating performance " with songs of Dženan Loncarević

Did he cry of happiness or eye trouble?

There is something called different opinion and it would be nice if you learned how to respect it. If you have a problem that Dzenan is my favorite and that I like his song the most, that is your problem not mine.

Also, remember that this is an international forum, so write in English as this topic is being read by other people as well.

Re: SERBIA 2019

There are some decent songs, but nothing wow. Dženan's song is fine, but the lyrics are just too much for me. It seems that melody has strong elements of Bosnian traditional genre called "sevdah" or it's just in my head. Even the lyrics, some words he uses etc. The song also reminds me of Serbia-Montenegro's entry from 2005. The good thing about the song is it gives a lot of space for creative staging. I just don't know if this can appeal to people outside the Balkans. The only Serbian singer who was able to get both televote and jury (with ethnic song) behind was Željko, but he is well known across and I am sure many jurors back in 2012 remembered him from previous attempts in 2004, 2006 and 2008 (with S-MN, BiH and then finally with Serbia and Jelena). Dženan is not Željko so I don't know. I really hope Serbia will be brave enough to experiment in coming years and to bring something else than ethno-pop and cheap pop.

Also, Serbia has been quite bad in staging its songs in recent years.

Re: SERBIA 2019

I relistened to all final Songs again and don't like most of them … the only two entries I really like are:

1. Majdan - "Budim te"
2. Nataša & Una - "Samo bez straha"

But it seems that these don't have much chances to go to Tel Aviv.

Which are the most likely entries to win? Mrm? Or anyone else? And when does the final begin today?

Predicting a Nevena win (and no final for Serbia this year but after yesterday I think that'd be true no matter who they go for).

Re: SERBIA 2019

:12:Lord can jump on my first position. Those lyrics, that trumpet beat, his costume, his staging. Did he go to music school in Moldova? xheya xmusic

:10: Ivan Kurtić - Good luck to him as well. His ballad has way more emotions than Dženan's (It's also sad, but in a different way) It feels less pretentious to me.

:8:Majdan
:7:Nataša & Una
:6:Sofija Perić

After them I'd put Saška Janks. She's alright.

From the semi finalists, you already know i liked Goga Stanić, Gipsykord and Funked Up, but there's another girl that sparked up a fire in me with her performance.:cool:

I heard them again and i have to say that is better to avoid Dzenan! Sending Saska would be the best i think!
