Why... I doubt he'll do as well, as he's so fucking boring, though we could say pretty much the same thing about Dima in 2008...

OMG.. This its just a Great Play of Serbia... its nice to know that RTVS is playing hard his cards with Željko again :), i expected a TOP 5 o 3 with him. His songs of 2004 & 2006 (With Hari) just are glorious :))))))))

Re: SERBIA 2012 - Željko Joksimović

This came like a lightning in a middle of the day

What to say.......while on one hand, I also always support fresh, good, and new faces, I think this is the right decision for RTS to bring the ESC madness back where it used to be in Serbia in 2004-2009 period. Zeljko is a great singer, a great composer, and as he said that he will make a totally different entry for Baku, and that it seems like it won't be a ballad (he said he will make a "euro-flavor" entry but in Serbian and with the Serbian production), I really support this choice. Judging by the name only, we will obviously be one of the strongest contenders for the.......well, you know :D

But it's too early to predict anything. Kudos to RTS for being flexible and listening to the people's voice. This year we announced our representative among the first countries, so RTS is obviously aiming for a very high result in 2012.

We'll see what happens :D

Good, at least Serbia will keep sending their entry in Serbian. Kudos for that, and Joksimovic is sure to reach top 5, IMO.

Ok, it will be interesting to see what will he sing. The fact that Hari Mata Hari is back, makes this even more interesting. :) I thought Serbians were fed up with him, and voila here he is again.

I wouldn't count a top5 for sure. Not with the juries.

I wouldn't count top 5 guaranteed either, as his last composition in the contest didn't make the top 5. I would have preferred another act also. If it's more like his rockier stuff I'm not sure I'll like it

Re: SERBIA 2012 - Željko Joksimović

I can't really imagine what will he compose, as he noted this will be something entirely different for the contest, and won't look like his previous songs like Lane Moje, Lejla or Oro.

He noted that next time he goes to ESC (and that is.....now :D) he "is going to write a song that will win Eurovision". So his personal ambition is to bring ESC back to Belgrade. Will he succeed, we'll see :D

Oh, and judging from his interviews, it doesn't seem we can expect a ballad from him this time.

Re: SERBIA 2012 - Željko Joksimović

I don't wanna sound corny, but I liked (and still do) these two songs from him:

Guilty pleasure

I like other songs by him (and he does really have a range of styles) as well.

To be honest, it would be nice to see a great song by him. However, I have lost faith that any of the ex-yu's will win soon (and especially with a song sang on an ex-yu language). Since Dino got his 6th place (and was kinda knocked by the juries), I am not that hopeful. But I want to be proven wrong and get my hope and belief back.

I can't imagine it either if he is not going down the ballad route. Most of his non ballads I personally find quite dated. I can't see such songs coming anywhere near winning ESC. The Balkan sound has worked with ballads but it hasn't had much success with uptempo & mid-tempo songs at Eurovision. (Doing that may get a good result and possible mean the broadcast don't have to host if they're that hard up as suggested)

Hahaha, LOL at the picture on the "Drska zeno plava" xrofl3

These two songs were huge hits, and I like them both as well :D This was from his "pre-umJetnik" era  From that period I also like "Karavan" and "Najmoje" a lot :D And from the "post-umJetnik" era, i like "Ledja o ledja", "Libero" and "Ima nesto u tom sto me neces" a lot. And of course, his ESC songs, I don't have to mention :D

Yes, it is very hard for any ex-yu country to win with the juries now (no matter if it's Serbia, or Croatia, Macedonia or .....anyone). I thought Merlin would end higher in Dusseldorf, but he was knocked by the juries. Regina were heavily knocked by the juries in 2009 as well. But then again, everything depends on the song, because in ESC we have learned that there is no rules, and that norms are changeable  A rule is that there is no rules, basically

But knowing Zeljko, "Oro", "Lejla" and "Lane moje" will be little kitties compared to the song he is going to compose now  We'll see if that will bring what he (and well....we too, if possible :D like everyone) wants.

Re: SERBIA 2012 - Željko Joksimović

On the contrary! I think juries love this stuff.

Depending on what stuff he will send. Assuming it will have an ethnic touch it is obvious what would happen (if the bc jury were still around next year... please NOT! They have ruined ESC in the 10's so far). He said it will be something different than his first three approaches. So no ballad I guess. I am excited. :D
