Re: SERBIA 2012 - Željko Joksimović

I'm looking forward to see what he puts forward this time. I have a feeling it could go well as usual or it could be a flop.
But I hope for something great nonetheless! :)

Re: SERBIA 2012 - Željko Joksimović

The reasons why he can win:
1) All the Balkans will vote for him, since he's very famous there.
2) Most of people who are not even ESC fans remember him,
3) He always write high quality songs. In 2004 he came 2nd when he was unknown to the rest of Europe, so now that people remember him, he'll have an advantage!
4) The juries will favor him I think.

Nothing is guaranteed though!

^ I dont think most people in the here or in other Western European countries will remember him, I wouldnt even remember him if he hadnt have hosted in 2008. I doubt that Serbia will win but I think top 5 would be a pretty safe bet ;).

I actually think he'll fail with the juries. But we'll see.

I don't think that he will place better than his last Eurovision effort from 2008. He may be a good songwriter and performer, but his moment was in 2004 and he missed it.

Re: SERBIA 2012 - Željko Joksimović

Why do you think he'll fail with the juries?

I wonder too, he is great singer with huge vocal abilities and its obviously that jury members always (almost) appreciate vocal abilities and level of music education.

I dont think most people in the here or in other Western European countries will remember him, I wouldnt even remember him if he hadnt have hosted in 2008.
I'm not a surprised at all. For example, last year, a few days before San Remo many forum members here asked who is Ana Oxa  If they dont hear for that italian diva, it's not surprised they dont know for some singer from Serbia.

Re: SERBIA 2012 - Željko Joksimović

I think he'll fail with juries, because although he has a GOOD voice, it's not a powerful voice, which is what the juries seem to like. It's not about good voices, but ones that are incredibly strong, like Austria and Slovenia last year. And I don't think the juries will appreciate the Balkan folk music as much. Dino's song last year had a lot of uptempo Balkan instrumentation and Dino had a good voice as well, and he only got 11th with the jury.

Željko said that song not be in folk manner , something totally different. Few times I hear him live and his live singing is great.
And Dino's song was very unusual for him and for Eurovision, and thats the mainly reason why he fail with jury

I know Zeljko is a great live singer, I went to his concert in Atlanta and have his CD that he released of his live performances in Beograd, he just doesn't have a POWERFUL voice. He's a great singer, and I wish him the best, of course.
I love his music. :D

100% true!

I honestly hope it will be completely different. He is an amazing performer, but the people would think it's just a cheap copy of Lane Moje, which was one of the best songs ever.
I wish him the best of luck, but I also don't see him winning. People are voting for young people nowadays and he will be 40 by then. Plus: the times of Ethno are through.

Re: SERBIA 2012 - Željko Joksimović

I think that if he wants to be top10 or top5.....he'll definitely have to come up with smth totally new and different than what he was in 2004. I hope he's aware of it. (??)

As for winning - I don't think he'll win, no matter what song is. Juries won't give pts. Audience would like him more, but that's not enough to win.

Re: SERBIA 2012 - Željko Joksimović

I see it just the other way round. The juries would vote for him, but I don't see the same people grabbing their phone who were voting for Alexander Rybak or Lena. Frankly said, you have to convince the Finnish housewife as well as the Italian police officer.
Balkan will vote for him, without doubt. But in case it really is Hari for Bosnia, they will most likely have to share their votes.
