As much as I despise the song (mostly because of the lyrics in the chorus, which creep me way out), there is no excuse for booing a Eurovision act just because you don't like the song. That's so against the spirit of the contest. I'm glad Joker Out has stepped up to support them in this. (Joker Out is in general being absolutely awesome on social media, of course.)

I didn‘t follow the whole story but I just read the lyrics. People habe a problem with this?!? Really?!? Why on earth? I don‘t get it.
The thing that I really, really don't like is "slay you like an animal". I'm personally not a fan of murder as a metaphor for sex...

I guess they find it "predatory".
Which I found ridicoulous pearl clutching.
But one of my favourite songs in the world is "Animals" by Maroon5, soo....
The only problem I have with lyrics is why tf should she find him, if he can smell her like an animal? Shouldn't he find her in that case xthink
I guess he was trying to be nice and not predatory, but it still didn't work and people find a reason to complain.

He says "smell you like an animal".
Wow, okay, that's a pretty significant difference. Still not my vibe, but now just because it's a little too horny, not because it's actually creepy. I know I'm not the only person who misheard the lyrics, as I've seen Youtube meme people refer to the "slay" line.

This is exactly what happens when you decide in advance to hate something for no reason really because the rest of the gang does it.

You start spreading fakes that there is an entry at Eurovision that sings about butchering women and you don't even stop for a moment to think: Hey, is that even possible?

🤣🤣🤣

That's a lot of assumptions about me you're making there, bud...

The "smell you like an animal" part is just weird, lol. But these type of lyrics are kinda their style. They have some interesting lyrics and titles on their album.

You mean all the mansplaining dudes?

Why do some men (not you) always feel the need to explain to us women how we have to feel? And what to feel? It’s just ridiculous… men whining how bad and sexist the lyrics are while no woman here (at least the few I know are women) has any problems with the lyrics…

I wish they would sing "f—k you like an animal“ so all the guys are gonna explode :ROFLMAO:

I’m really sorry! xblush
Sometimes you think you finally know who is what on this forum… but still surprises! :-)

What do you think about the lyrics?
No problem. 🤗
Well, I think the lyrics are stupid
"Bring the party, Aphrodite, and I'll chase you on the dancefloor"- really? :ROFLMAO:
But I most definitely don't feel insulted or offended by it.

Agree 100%. Would you really get offended if a guy like that would tell you "I'd eF you like an animal?" 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Modern society, please, let us women live our wild dreams! 😆

I don't find that part about dancefloor weird. Reminds me of when I was young cruising the discoteques on a 2nd date with my male object so that I don't have to talk to him because I was shy. 🤣

Shouldn't it be a simile, because it uses like?
well actually the word „smell“ is very likely already used in a metaphorical, not in the litteral way so I considered the whole phrase to be a metaphore… A rather simplistic one, but still…

What strikes me more though is that I saw litterally nobody complaining about the lyrics of „lion of love“ in the eurovision movie but all of a sudden… you make me laugh people, you make me laugh.

I didn't watch the Eurovision movie. I've never found Will Ferrell particularly funny.
