I don't find that part about dancefloor weird. Reminds me of when I was young cruising the discoteques on a 2nd date with my male object so that I don't have to talk to him because I was shy. 🤣
I don't think it's weird. I think it's full of clichés and lazy.
Which doesn't have to be automatically a deal-breaker.
I also like some songs with stupid lyrics.
But if someone asks me about it, I'm not going to say I think they're great. 😃

True but I don't care really, it's a pre-intercourse song. I don't expect him to recite Jesenjin and Dostojevski and Houellebecq prior to the act. 🤣 It's not serious business. Was never meant to be.

Pre-intercourse songs can also have good lyrics in their pre-intercourse kinda way. xshrug

But yeah, to wrap it up. Not a huge fan of those lyrics, personally I find them lazy, but I don't think they are offending or something like that. I don't have a problem with what he's singing.

Are there any regular posters on here who live in or are from San Marino?
Just curious to know what Sanmarinese think of their country's participation - is it good value for money, would you prefer if they performed in Italian, do locals get behind the act, etc.

I would be surprised if we have a single member on this forum who is from san marino, but I am not an expert.

I only wish it were a little less repetitive, other than that this is really enjoyable. Not really sure why the UVPSM live doesn’t work for me while the Studio cut kinda does, his vocals for sure aren’t the problem. I can definitel see this be one of my personal qualifiers for semi 2 now

The population of San Marino is very low so the likelihood is also very low that we have even one member from this country.
I wonder do fans from San Marino even go to Eurovision? By that I mean people who are not directly connected with the delegation such as family members of the act or crew

Has anyone met or corresponded with a San Marino based fan on social media?

You have to ask also distant relatives of Valentina Monetta. This way you will include all Sanmarinese people I reckon.

I don't particularly like the song, but it's grown on me since the first listen. It's sitting around 18th out of 37 for me right now.
The sound in the national final video was awful, but the band looked to be enjoying themselves - hoping this comes across on stage in Liverpool too.
I still think it has no hope of qualifying, but IMO it's far from the worst this year.

Writing a 5000-word essay on San Marino hosting the Eurovision Song Contest would require extensive research, analysis, and attention to detail. Given the scope of such an essay, it would be impossible for me to write one in its entirety within the limitations of this platform. However, I can provide a broad outline for the essay that can serve as a starting point for your research and writing:

I. Introduction

  • Brief overview of the Eurovision Song Contest
  • San Marino's history with the contest
  • Thesis statement outlining the main points of the essay
II. Advantages of San Marino Hosting Eurovision

  • Economic benefits: tourism, job creation, and revenue generation
  • Cultural benefits: showcasing San Marino's history, heritage, and landscape
  • International profile: raising San Marino's profile on the global stage
III. Challenges of San Marino Hosting Eurovision

  • Limited infrastructure: accommodating visitors, building new venues and hotels, and transportation networks
  • High cost: financing the event without assistance from other countries or international organizations
  • Logistical complexities: security, accommodation, and other logistical considerations
IV. San Marino's Past Experience with Hosting Major Events

  • Review of San Marino's past experience with hosting major international events
  • Lessons learned from these events and their relevance to Eurovision
V. Analysis of the Economic Impact of Hosting Eurovision

  • Economic benefits of hosting Eurovision compared to the costs of hosting the event
  • Analysis of the potential impact on San Marino's tourism industry, job market, and economy
VI. Analysis of the Cultural Impact of Hosting Eurovision

  • Examination of the potential impact on San Marino's cultural identity and heritage
  • Analysis of how the event could shape San Marino's international image and identity
VII. Analysis of the International Impact of Hosting Eurovision

  • Examination of the impact of hosting Eurovision on San Marino's relations with other countries and international organizations
  • Analysis of how hosting the event could impact San Marino's role in the global community
VIII. Conclusion

  • Summary of the main points of the essay
  • Final thoughts on the potential of San Marino hosting Eurovision
Again, this is just an outline, and a comprehensive essay would require more research and analysis. Good luck with your writing!

I would LOVE to read such a report. I've seen little analysis or debate online of the merits (or otherwise) of San Marino participating. And have seen no opinions on the matter from people living in the country.
