I get it, well it comes with the territory right? Some will be happy, some will not and we are free to express whatever... but yeah sorry for raining on your parade, the "troll" comment was well... maybe not necessary I guess... it was just my spontaneous reaction (again I didn't direct at you)...

Wow I'm surprised you only liked 1 of the qualifiers!?

I like Belarus as well.... which you also called a children's song:rolleyes::lol: But San Marino, Georgia and Portugal were the 10/10 songs for me (along with Albania, Italy and Macedonia). It's not been the greatest ESC year for me, but I've got a few super faves at least.

I get it though. Don't worry. We've known each other for too long. I could never get mad at you, even after raining down on dear Serhat:cool:

Well it does sound childish to me sorry

No but really, people can hate on my favs all they want (and they often do), what saddens me though is that some people use this forum to make it personal and attack people who disagree with them, has different opinions or whatevs... now that's a different thing, so I can understand that my "troll" comment could have been regarded as such, which wasn't my intention really... also it was more generally not targeting anyone in particular... but yeah sorry if it came across that way.

Aaaw thank you, at least you try to "get me"... xrose

I moved roles at work towards the end of last year and got on superbly well with the lady sitting next to me. I introduced her to this song (and this song alone!) of this year's entries and she adored it. To assist with Mr. A-lister's argument, her nine year old son also adores it and kept wanting to listen to it. She was so much of a fan that she watched the show and I got an extremely happy text from her when he qualified to accompany my shriek of delight when this wonderfully catchy and infectious tune qualified. Nothing else came close to what it was selling last night. The vocals were undeniably a little ropey but CYPRUS ANYONE??? This makes a wonderful surprise qualifier (let's face it, it's no fun if the top ten in the odds qualify EVER year!) and I am so chuffed for him and for San Marino xlove xlove

My only disappointment is that the only prediction I made to my friend was that he would never qualify and now I have a 100% failure rate on predictions with her :p

I was like: after this bad SF I really hope Serhat slayed it not only with enthousiasm but also with some good notes. I definitely envy the big energy he has. That really deserves the final. The problem for me is, I think he isn't a good singer, especially yesterday. But I still had a lot of fun, because the loving energy he has and that's probably what the people here also love about him.

Serhat dropping a big sack of money on Bjorkman's desk this morning xheart

Seriously though, I have been forced to eat my words. I completely wrote this off when it was announced and called everyone who said it could make the final delusional, but here we are. Was it deserved? Does that matter? It was the most typically Eurovision thing on the night for a good portion of the audience - maybe sometimes all people want is to be entertained.

Well done daddy serhat. The only song from this semifinal that I will listen to after esc. What a guilty pleasure and congrats to underdogs. :p

It's not the best song but it's certainly better than a few others in semi 1 and the staging was very good, especially for San Marino. Serhat also does his best to get votes from the Turkish diaspora. I wonder how big the impact of their votes really is.

I was actually pretty disappointed by the performance given the music video, I guess the budget went on that. I wanted a bit more of a brighter vibe and colours.

But still, what an iconic moment :)

Let's be honest, this is bad... I'm surprised :sm: made it with this... but then again not considering it stood out and I guess alot of children voted this evening based on some of the odd qualifiers...
I was listening for all the songs first time during the show.

And yes, I loved Slovenia, Iceland, Portugal, Georgia etc.

But during the voting (and after the show) I found myself humming “na na na” xrofl2

Yeah it’s bad, it’s attrocius. But it’s a really catchy tune.
Combined with his weird presence and everything, somehow it wasn’t offputting, it was weirdly likable. xshrug

I'm not a hater of this song. So, I'm basically saying that one of the worst perfomances I can remember of in this contest has qualified. It was truly painful and embarrissing to me listening to him "singing". But congrats to all who wanted this song so badly in the final.

I admit, I laughed bitterly when listening to his performance... And then bam! He's in the final. Okay then...

He’s so terrible at singing that it’s adorable at the same time. What makes it even more epic is that you can see he really thinks he’s doing it well, you know like those awful castings of American Idol and stuff like that. This man is living his dream, respect for that. Kudo for his success, Eurovision needs more Serhats and “Say na na na” because having 26 well-produced and polished mainstream pop or ballad entries on Saturday would be utterly boring!

I'm not a fan of the song but I'm happy San Marino qualified. It'd a fun song and we absolutely need fun. (I'm more desappointed by Estonia qualifying, but I'm never mad at results because life goes on)

He's really bad at singing but so happy for him, San Marino and his fans :) Honestly, I don't mind him even winning  It would be epic to have san Marino in Top 10!

I think he qualified for his charisma and a good vibe he left after his performance. Yeah, he didn't sing well, but he is such a great and fun guy just to look at. I believe he must be a fun person to be around.
