I have finally come to believe that San Marino is not really interested in competing for the win, and never was. All they want to do is to show their Flag and make their name known. And I have made my peace with it. A win and subsequent hosting would cause so much trouble, cost and unrest for this happy little country, why should they take it on themselves?

Let them enjoy just being part of the family, in the sure knowledge that they could win any time they wanted by sending you-know-who with a you-know-what song ...

It wouldn't be as hard as Monaco in 1970's when they won and hardly tried to host but later gave up.
EDIT: If San Marino came to win, it'd be as much easier as what Monaco would've been forced to do since they've some areas to build a small arena of 5000 places up.

You probably need A LOT more money now to be successful at ESC then you probably did just a few years ago. San Marino can't afford it so they depend completely on the person who can. "You can be our entry for Eurovision but you have to pay for everything!" For four years it was Ralph and this year its Serhat. That's why their entries always sound cheap and non-starters when it comes to competitiveness. Of course that doesn't mean we can't enjoy them for fun ;) Their stuck in a corner not of their making and unless they can get someone who can really shell out the money with abandon then it will remain the same.

ATTENTION SERHAT FANS The man has just released a 6 track ep. You get the original version, an instrumental, as well as four wonderful remixes. I'd point you in the direction of the Markus Adler Remix which is just stupendous. Got legit goosebumps in the buildup to the chorus. There's also a rather fabulous disco version of the song. Hopefully the French and Italian versions will be with us soon, perhaps with some more surprises. I'd personally like a stripped back recording with just the piano.

First listening...

This song is so horrible that I actually enjoy it.
It is creepy and weird.

Too bad it won't be appreciated.

7 from me

My friend, it gives me much pleasure to see you enjoy a song so much. Serhat has truly come to save us all.

I like it more than I did. I find the best way to appreciate this is to listen to Frans 3 times in a row and then listen to this. Make it sound a lot better!

I've upgraded my 0 to 3.

Oh how wonderful. This pleases me greatly. I suggest you make a new special playlist with "If I Were Sorry" and "I Didn't Know". Leave it playing for 24 hours and I guarantee you that you'll have a new 12 by the end of the day.

I actually think fair play to San Marino, I'm guessing that they only have a tiny music industry and it's hard for them to come up with a Eurovision entry at all. So they come up with very unconventional entries - sure not always ones that sound good - but ones that stand-out nonetheless ;)

And you know what, I actually quite like this! He reminds me of a male Maxine Swaby... in fact, I've come to the conclusion that their songs are written about each other

So I give Serhat 8 points. I much prefer a song to be blunt about being crap than try and pretend its something its not :p

I big thanx for letting us (me) know. Loved the Markus Adler Remix... but still I prefer the original.. I think. Cant wait for the versions in other languages!

What a hot hit. Can't wait for hordes of fans to lose their shit to this in EuroClub this year.

Wow! I'm speechless with the disco version! The song sounds very weird to me in its original form... I don't even know if I like it or not (and I don't even understand if it is to be considered as something serious, since the videoclip is quite funny and to me it sounds like an unintended parody of romantic songs), but the disco version! xbow If they used the disco version it would climb immediately to my top 5!

I honestly can't believe how good the disco version is. Really enjoying it. It's more the style I expect to see from Serhat when he was announced.
