6 points for now... I seem to be one of the very few people who's in the middle on this. It's incredibly lame, it's cheesy, and by normal standards I'd be inclined to call it 'terrible'... but somehow I find myself enjoying it, plus it's undeniably unique in the field of songs we've gotten so far. Not my cup of tea, but I'd be thrilled to see more things like this instead of 'we couldn't think of anything interesting so we went with a female singer wailing out a dull ballad' or 'I guess we'll send a soulless boy band. Those get points, right?'. It's fun and unusual, so even if I don't end up loving it, I'm pretty sure I'll still be on the side defending Serhat.

I honestly don't know what to think of this. It's laughable, crazy, but it has some uniqueness about it...that poetic reading of love can be quite cheesy and ingenious at the same time.:lol:
As an entry, sorry San Marino - not good, but not bad either. Made me more interested in this than in the Croatian song. Hopefully, not a last place. Moldova should get that last place in that semi to be honest.

The video clip is a separate story.

I Didn't Know it actually a beautiful song! I love the instrumentation. And I love the melody and the feel the song gives me. Reminding me a bit of Cohen. In the chorus Serhat's voice works good. But I am a bit sure about his voice in the "verses" - can I actually call it that? I would have LOVED to hear him sing this in turkish or italian!

So it wasn't a dream. San Marino is sending an Amanda Lear-esque ballad performed by Turkish gentleman wearing a monoclexheat

VikingTiger you're half in luck.

The Italian version of the song, Non Eroio has been written by Mariella Nava, one of the most prestigious Italian singers/composers with many huge collaborations in Italy and abroad. The French version, Comment Savoir has been penned by Stéphane Laporte.

In addition to the Eurovision Song Contest version, there will also be several remixes with different target groups, under the auspices of the German record label Cap Sounds.

So French and Italian versions are coming, plus a bunch of remixes. Fingers crossed for a hot euroclub remixxcrossed

Also, i'd hate for some of the people commenting on this topic to hear artists such as Leonard Cohen, Lou Reed or Marlene Dietrich, if they've got a problem with Serhat's voice and the way he performs this. A song doesn't always have to be belted and speak singing is as totally viable as any other style of vocal. Not to say it's for everyone but for me it works so stupendously here, creating an amorous vibe. It's so smoky and sensual.

I am now getting extremely curious about how they will present this on the stage! I am not sure the monocle should stay.... lol....

I can't believe people like this! Is it the effect of it being so incredibly awful it becomes good, or just liking it for the sake of being different?! Hands down I could've written and sang a better song than this.

it has something from a very bad Leonard Cohen impersonator, where you don't know if he does a well inteded but gone wrong tribute to his idol or a jokingly mockery of him.

What an assumption. You're wrong on both counts. I love it genuinely, not because it's "so awful it becomes good" or because I want to go against the stream. I love it because I think it's wondrous. I've been listening to music like this, sung by similar artists for years. I find "I Didn't Know" ridiculously charming. The shock horror reaction to the song is predictable and fair enough, whatever, but to come to the conclusion that none of us actually enjoy this song sincerely is wrong. I almost take a bit of offense to that.

This is I'm a Joker all over again for me.

By which I mean I honestly have no slightest idea why all the hate... It's pretty nice.

Måns can sing, he doesn't just talk over music while looking like a pedo

Why the everloving heck is everyone comparing this to I’m a Joker? That one was an interesting – and honestly really cool – offbeat entry, while Serhat is only saved by his pronunciation.

May I just say, that I find this is still better than "I'm a joker". At least it doesn't give my finger the "skip that away"-reflex.

Woo-oh oh, woo-oh-oh... Yeah he can sing and whatever else you want. My point is that everybody have different tastes, not better neither worse, just different... So, why can't you believe that some people like a song that you don't? There is not science about music taste...
Indeed some of us like it maybe for "the wrong reasons" like middlefinger the mainstream wave and blablabla, but others genuinely might like it as well. So, let's not try to understand why people like it, just believe that there are people who do like it xshrug
