I do. I'll wait for her 2015 entry. Good thing about Val is that she always gives Eurovision another chance to prove itself worthy of her. :)

I was actually thinking earlier on, Val seems to be going back through the decades. We started with 90's bubblegum pop, followed by an 80's soap opera theme, then this year we have quite a dramatic song I feel is tinged with 70's disco vibes (Dschinghis Khan). Eventually we'll reach the 1940's (in my opinion) the golden era of Jazz. I reckon next year she'll go for some Psychedelic Folk Rock but Ralph Siegel stylexheat

Grrreeeaaat Voice! Vocally she is as impressive as always. I'm not so sure about that arm choreo of hers, though. It looked a bit uninspired, but perhaps this was only due to Matt's static cam? Maybe it'll look better on TV.

She's flawless live and the song grew on me a little,but still,worse than 2012 & 2013...
I'm sure her next song will be better:D

One of the best rehearsals definetly. And her best one on ESC so far :D Both vocally and visually.

But sadly.......I think it will, once again, not be enough to make the cut :(

That has just made my year. What a special moment. I wanted to cry but my jaw was too open wide and smiling. I thank ESCUNITED so much for getting my words to Valentina. She really has been a light in what have been a crumby past few years for me. I feel I can relate to her so much. I do feel the pain and longing in her voice when she sing's but these moments she has turned into something beautiful. Valentina is the most humble, warm hearted woman. I love herxcry1 And now she knows how much I do.

Thank you once more. A very special moment.

Matt are you guys going to the Euro Fan Cafe tonight for Ralph's 40th anniversary as a composer party? I'm foaming around the mouth at the thought of a possible live Jazz version of "Maybe" being performedxheat

Omg! xshock

That last message was... It made me cry, I won't lie. Especially beacuse I know that it was written from the heart. I mean, just look at her facial expresions while listening through the message. I think she was really surprised by it and I believe she is thankful for it.

I might sound pathetic right now, but she really did change many lives, including mine. I myself went through a very rocky time last year and her songs helped me make it. Not many people know this, but her songs were there, when I almost gave up. Withouth her, I would probably not be here right now writing this and I will be always grateful for that.

RainyWoods (I didn't know your name is Kai :) ), you can be very happy right now. She'll probably think of you and that message, while she'll sing that song on Tuesday. You lucky man! ;)

Kaja I know just how you feel as i've felt exactly the same. 2012 was both a dark but very poignant year for me. At the time, "Suus" was swirling around in head and giving me much strength but also I saw this beautiful, funny and talented girl from San Marino. I knew from the beginning that she had done something incredibly brave and risky. To step in at the last moment to sing something that was so fun but left her open for incredible levels of mocking. It was heartwarming to see Ralph so desperate to give her another chance. He felt very responsible and wanted to put things right. The hype wave last year was so much fun and really uplifting and it was such a shame how it ended. This years entry truly is achingly beautiful and it breaks my heart how many people appear to have lost interest because I feel so strong the emotions in Valentina's song this year. She means every word and sings from the heart. I hope everyone on the night will feel the sincerity on display. She will be thinking of all of us when she sings, i'm very sure of it.

greece and conwel97 I wanted to cry but my smile was too big:mrgreen: It was unbelievable. It was very special for me to see Valentina receiving my words. I seldom cry (although I am a very emotional person) but Valentina and Rona are the only two from Eurovision who have made me watery eyed with their music.

IanP It's certainly something I will always remember. Valentina has made the past three years for me. She has been an absolute pleasure to watch and to follow. I have a sneaky feeling she'll come back again VERY soon. She's gone from saying she's not coming back next year to now "Maybe, anything is possible" with a big smile on her face each time the question is asked. When she stops competing, a big hole will be left in the contest.
