What the fck, why the fck they didn't keep this song for the contest

Answer is simple, she is a TROLL who is trolling this festival with her 3 times in row participant and with Ralph Siegel..

If she entered that intteresting jazz song 12Points user has posted, she would be high on my list for this edition.. :)

With this trolling attitude, NO..

Is what San Marino should have sent to Eurovision

This is way better, unfortunately it to intelligent music for ESC The market for jazz is to narrow for the common ESC listener ...... it has something which is much easier to listen to and more catchy for a common listener or else it will get 0 pts.... unfortunate

That needs to be tried. Raphael Gualazzi was very successful in 2011, and I do not believe for a second that it was only a welcome-back present for Italy. Some groovy piece of jazz could do very well in the ESC, and Valentina is the perfect singer to do it.

Btw. I am beginning to feel that this entire ESC affair is in fact a very clever ploy of Valentina's to boost her career. Three times in a row she competes with songs that are mediocre at best, but show enough of her skills to raise attention. People are looking for her at YT and find out that she can actually do much better. And they expect her to do so "next time". But she doesn't, getting instead again and again paid by San Marino RTV and increasing her popularity all over Europe without investing a single cent. Smart!

Tbh I wasn't so thrilled about Roger. It was too much "show", while I think Jazz is most convincing when there is a flair of authenticity. You could even call it intimacy. Of course swing usually does not invite that. But for a ESC song, no matter what style of music, it's preferable when the audience gets the impression the artist really "feels" it. That worked very well with Rona, for example, and I believe Valentina is capable of doing something comparable in a lighter, more upbeat jazz style.

I've always dreamed of Valentina pulling off a "Suus". In essence it was an experimental jazz song that was lushly orchestrated. The problem with Valentina's songs is that they are ballads written by Ralph that she's having to put her own spin on. You can hear her jazz sensibilities aching to come to the forefront on "Maybe". I don't know how much of a say she has in the writing process but she did say in the presentation of her song that she argued and fought with the lyricist of the song (although she loves him very much). They obviously all see something very special in Valentina but they are keeping her firmly pointed in the wrong direction.. and she's most likely too grateful for the whole experience to speak up.

Hello Toinou my friend. Thank you for your warm words and wishes. It is unfortunate that the waters are currently extremely cold, as cold as my heart right now for not being allowed back on the Expert Panel this year. I am without a home.

Warmest regards, Vale.
