According to esctoday.com
the Sammarinese national broadcaster has confirmed to esctoday.com that the 2014 Sammarinese entry will be premiered in March.
Valentina’s entry has been composed by Eurovision veteran Ralph Siegel.

I'm praying that Valentina had a hand in it's making and that it has a very organic production.

Ugh... Why do I have a bad feeling about this?

I'm slightly concerned as well but I suppose we did always know he'd be involved one way or another. I just hope that he's learnt whats perfect for Valentina and that he seeks someone else to produce his composition. His twinkly, dated production is really the only thing holding Valentina back.

We already knew it was going to be by Ralph Siegel right from the start but I guess that doesn't make it any easier

I hope she has a a great song, because it'll be hard for San Marino to get out of semi-final 1. They almost did it last year, so let's have hope xpray

Italy gave only 3 points to San Marino in 2012,why are you making such a big deal where Italy is voting:lol:

+1. 'San Marino won't qualify unless Italy votes in their semi ' is probably one of the worst ESC fallacies ever.

I really want Valentina to send in another ballad similar to Crisalide. I think that is the most underrated song in the whole contest! :(

Yep, same thing goes for San Marino, they gave Italy 12 points in 2011 (when they finished 2nd) but that's it. In 2013 I think Marco only received three points from San Marino.

So, given how the voting process goes these days, it really doesn't matter how many points Italy will eventually give San Marino, and vice versa. I used to believe that Italy and San Marino will exchange 12 points like Greece and Cyprus, but to me, this is a case-by-case basis. It's not really guaranteed.

Of course it's not guaranteed when San Marino doesn't have televoting in ESC, just jury..

Re: SAN MARINO 2014 - Valentina Monetta

Today on an interview to Prinz Blog, San Marino’s 2012, 2013, 2014 participant, Valentina Monetta revealed that she will present her Eurovision 2014 entry on March 14th. Currently she and her team are trying to decide among three potential songs. The decision will be made by her and Ralph Siegel, the composer of the songs. The songs that are in the running for the final decision are English and Italian.
Currently Valentina and Ralph are working hard for her new album which nine songs will be Valentina’s and seven of Ralph Siegel’s.

Let's hope the ESC entry will be in ITALIAN and without Ralph this time around... I need something less cliché, something darker...

For some weird reason I am more curious about Valentina's nine than Ralph's seven. And since they are already down on three songs for Copenhagen, wouldn't it be helpful to get a public opinion?

Couldn't they release 3 songs in February then have an internet vote with Eurovision fans choosing the winner.

What they should maybe do is release the three songs and then hear what the fan feedback is like and go from there.

The entry will be in Italian if I recall correctly so you get that wish but dream on about ditching Siegel, not going to happen

Paraphrase of a Valentina quote:

he is her best composer, best friend and have a big heart...this is very important for Valentina... for her mood you know...yes...also she loves that team and they have a very positive...this 'aura'...si

As long as Valentina is the representative for San Marino your stuck with him ;)
