This song won't do well with the juries, because it's dated, too melodramatic and lacks any kind of soul. And nowhere near as accessible as yatoo was, so the televote score will be lower than in 2016 I predict. The levels between this and Arcade is staggering. It would be a crime against humanity, if this ends up beating The Netherlands.

edit: just so I don't seem biased against Russia, I absolutely adored the masterpiece that was you are the only one

I like the song. Not my winner, but certainly very different from what I expected. I am certain that Seryozha will give it all on the stage. If this ESC is to be political again, then there is no doubt that he will flop with juries, but I am certain he will score a great deal of points in televote. After all, he is very handsome, a good singer, and if we add show on the stage (which we will certainly get), then he will place very high despite juries. After all, he is a megastar in all CIS countries. Good luck, Russia.

OMG … I loved that entry of the Sisters. Poor them that time getting all the hate they didn't deserve.

Of course people would label this "dated". Knew it.
This song is classic-sounding if anything. Yes, it does not sound like all the "trendy" ballads these days but this kind of a song does not even require it. I bet La Forza was dated too?
His last "dated" song from 2016 won the televote so...

Plus I don't see how a dated song can be a criticism to dislike a song. It's not like we stopped listening to songs from the last century. People enjoy it? People feel things listening to it? If yes, then it's a good song. "This is dated/outdated" always pisses me off when it is used as an excuse for a negative impression. :s

Dear Sergey, you do great up-tempo pop, and I love it when you sing in russian! But this melodramatic and pretentious song gives me musical-vibes rather than winner-vibes. And in my ears your voice is not cut out for the musical-scene and songs like Scream. I am sure this will look fantastic on stage - but in my opinion it will still not sound fantastic.
I dont think Russia will be a contender for the win afterall. Before listening to Scream I was kind of expecting that Russia would be very hard to beat this year. But not anymore. I cant see this climbing to the top of neither the televoters' nor the juries ranking.

But dont get me wrong, I certainly dont hate this. But once again Sergey has picked a song that is not one of his best recordings.

Woah, a lot better than I was expecting. It has a very symphonic metal feeling, love me some drama and epicness. I don't necessarily think this screams winner, but once again, if people are predicting Netherlands out of all countries, which I cannot see winning at all, why not this then tbh.

10 points.

Of course I do. I was one of the three people that liked it. Legendary and iconic.

So, I was the third obviously, if you and Mrm were the first and second of those who liked this song and everything about it. I actually still listen to it from time to time. I still pitty those poor girls for getting booed on stage.

Yeah, they didn't deserve to experience that. It was probably the most uncomfortable Eurovision viewing ever. I think they were actually my second favourite that year behind San Marino if I remember correctly.

I liked the tomalchevi..tomalchevo... the russian sisters ! but that was nowhere competitive in 2014, the song was fine though.

Came here to hate the song and left after clicking on the 12. Did not expect this...guess I'm a sucker for epic instrumentals.

This did give me goosebumps. I love abrupt “negative” space followed by slightly gothic last part.
Im really bad at predicting placing. But this song goes straight to my playlist. Good job, Russia.

But if juries go for the Netherlands (which I could totally understand) they DO HAVE to appreciate Russia as well.

And why should they may I ask? Because the Netherlands' entry sounds more honest and sincere than Russia's entry. The only common thing that they are both ballads sang by male singers, but only the Netherlands' entry is far superior. And at least Duncan didn't have to pretend he is a belter, where Sergey has to make sure he doesn't screw up his vocals. Don't get me wrong, Sergey is a decent vocalist, but he is not known as a vocal powerhouse. And from the studio cut of the song, he seems like he needs to ensure he hits the notes without struggling. And if he screws up, he essentially doom with the juries.
