His performance did not entertain me. During his performance I felt he concentrated more to the movements not to the song.
That's the purpose though, they rely heavily on the show part to disguise the cliché song and make the viewers distracted.
Just wondering, why wasn't the camera zoomed in completely on the LED screen, like in Greta's performance? It looks much better zoomed in than seeing a screen behind him compared to the huge stage. Or was that intentional?
It's always been my favourite, and while it was good, I was expecting more on the TV.
The Russian delegation knew that Sergeys song is really weak and dated so they had to put up that over the top show to impress... That's how I see the whole thing!
Now some bookies offer odds of 1 for this stinking piece of crap. Well, at least it's a chance to feel eight years younger. #EurovisionCampContest
Actually, that was the only one that impressed my family. The only song that actually made them to dance.
So what?
It's not only about the visuals.
Why is the fact that your family liked an argument against the visuals?
and he actually told a story
I can agree on what you want but not this. Iceland had a story, it was literally storytelling. Russia was just graphics one after another. There's no link between wings, thunder, shadows, or climbing.
The story is about a girl he likes/loves, she's the only one. The wings refers to him, the thunder refers to that part of the lyrics but not the overall meaning of the songs, the justdance shadows are for... I don't know. I can just -maybe- explain that he climbs to reach his fiancee.
While everything in Iceland had a meaning, the shadows, being bullied with the hands that are hitting her, the moment when she feels terribly alone and hurted in full shadow.. That is storytelling.
I don't think that "You are the only one" is about a girl in general. I don't think that the song is about romantic love at all. This has some subtle messages about Sergey's character that I find really cool. Actually, I find this song really deep. And everything masked in a kitschy Sakis Rouvas beat because it's a party after all
