even if Russia wins,
EBU won't let them organise the venue in a big arena.

why?

As for me, i don't care because they anyway will choose Moscow. But regardless of choice i'm sure ESC will be organized as well as it was in 2009 (2010 after that looked like disaster (well it would look so after any ESC year))

Denmark host it in 2001 in their biggest football stadium and many people was attended it. Besides could be beneficial for EBU & Russia held it in a Big Arena due the amount of money & people who will go for ESC 2017 in St. Petersburg. ;)

Hated this song the first time I heard it and I still do. Now I've heard all the songs, :ru: can have my last, #43 place this year. Even though the song itself is not absolutely terrible (still really bad, extremely uninteresting and not my cup of tea), the cheesiness and the scorewhore-ishness factors in this song are way too high for me to bear with.

Hope it doesn't win as it would be one of the worst winners ever.

Agree with every word. This is just leaving such a sour taste in my mouth and would easily be a bottom 5 winner for me.

Regardless of personal taste or qualificatifs like dated, modern, catchy, good, bad,.... Whoever wants to win this year has to beat Russia in the first place. I am not saying the winner is already Sergey for sure, but it's not gonna be easy for any other country.

I don't get why everytime when Sergey's video gets a million views, it suddenly becomes a "news". First of all, Russia has way too much population, and second, there are Eurovision 2016 songs that have way more views than Sergey's for the moment.

He's hot and the song is one of the best this year, but still I am not sure if he could actually win the whole thing. Top 5 for sure.

Just listened to this for the first time. This would fit in as a winner....in 2005 or 2006.

Seriously? I actually wanted to stop/avoid this discussion but ok ... Here are few examples of what makes the Russian politics (for me) disgusting and immoral:
- the restriction of press freedom (approx. 90% of the Russian Media are directed and controlled by the Kremlin and the more or less independent journalists who dare to write something that contradicts Putins politics get arrested or they unfortunately "die in an accident")
- the discrimination of Homo-/Bi-/Trans-sexuals that is fixed by law (People openly showing their "abnormal" sexuality get arrested or worse + it's forbidden to talk about/to teach sexual diversity in schools)
- the oppression of everyone who levels criticism against the Kremlin (e.g. Pussy Riot or the politic opposition)
- the discrimination of ethnic minorities and people with disabilities
- the connivance of child and compulsory labor under inhuman conditions (e.g. during the construction works for the Olympic Games 2014)
- forced land alienation and displacement of people (e.g. during the construction works for the Olympic Games 2014)
- the illegal annexation of foreign territory (e.g. Crimea)

I could go on for ever .... Those things may be ok for some people but not for someone who was born and raised in a democracy.
Let's finally put and end to this - We will probably not agree on something anyway.

  xrofl3

You are incredibly immature, you laugh at everyone who disagrees with you and display a sense of Russian supremacy.
And I completely agree with GermanBango, Russia is a disgrace to modern civilization.

You're a bigger disgrace to civilization, insulting any country in a popsong thread is farcical and idiotic by default...

I don't think that Eurovision should avoid politics, you can't avoid politics when countries are involved. Is Russia's song good? Yes. Is it good enough to win? No. Should Russia win? No. Is Russian government doing a good job right now? No. Would they be protested if Russia won this year? HELL YES.

Patriotic bigots could laugh all the way but if you are living in a dictator's catasthrope and you don't accept it, you have to be considered as an idiot. If similar comments were made when my country had the possibility to win the contest, i would agree.

If this wins, it will be named the WORST winner of all times until 2100, along with his fellow of 2008.

Also this song is a disgrace for the Eurovision Song Contest of 2016.
ESC 2008 called and wants its cheesy crap back.

The song is OK, the video is cool but his performances are fake and plastic. He dances like a robot, even he walks like a cyborg, there is no place for being spontaneous, everything is programmed from the beginning till the end. I don't like this kind of staging, but it was totally what I expected for because I saw his previous shows and, let's say, I am not a fan.

So it deserves to be in top 10, maybe top 5, but I hope it will not win, because we don't need a cheap version of Mans Zelmerlow. Russia had a lot of better performances in the past including Polina Gagarina, Babushki, Seberbo and even t.A.T.u., I really appreciate that they send every year very strong entries, but Sergey Lazarev as a winner is a joke for me (but this is possible, because this year is kind of weak).
