Russian pop star Zhanna Friske passed away today from brain cancer. She was 41.

Friske (also known by her birth name Jeanna Friske) was a member of the Russian girl-group Blestyashchie from the late '90s, before departing in 2003 to pursue acting and her solo music career. Her film credits include notable roles in Timur Bekmambetov’s horror films Night Watch and Day Watch and she released a string of singles and a self-titled album, which dropped in 2005.

The entertainer had announced he was suffering with late stage brain cancer in January 2014 and it had been reported she was planning to establish a fund to help support those afflicted with cancer. It’s understood she declined to undergo chemotherapy due to the threat the procedure posed to her unborn child; she gave birth to a boy in April of that year.

Their Eurovision song was very good and Mama Lube was my summer jam so i'd love to see Serebro again

But won't be the same explosive band as they where in 2007, their main face Elena Temnikova left the group and Serebro isn't the big thing since then.

What about the newcomers Vremya & Steklo?? they are doing well at Russian charts with this song

Also i love the new video of Nyusha, an Indian style choreography like this could fantastic for Russia in ESC!!

I'm all for Nyusha, but with the current route Russia is on regarding ESC they would probably just waste her on some imported English cheesy ballad like they did on Polina... it's so sad when they pick great names but settle with songs that have nothing to do with these artists and are just bought for the ESC.

I want something in Russian from Russia, in Ukrainian from Ukraine and in Belarusian from Belarus...
but I doubt we get any of that...

Something Ukrainian is more possible than the years before if u consider the political situation atm I think. But Belarus and Russia will probably send something in horrible English again
