Calling it now -- Russia's participant next year is Putin himself.

What I have realized is that I can't be excited after only the artist gets announced this year; I've been burned three years in a row now.

Others suggestions:

Yolka

She's Ukrainian...

Nyusha would be my first pick... but let's not waste it on a Swedish peace ballad import but actually send an entry that is TRUE to the artist...

Please send a song in RUSSIAN. Don't submit yourself, your culture, your language and your history to the English language.

Yes but Yolka is more active in the Russian market than Ukrainian. I can see her participating in an Russian NF than Ukrainian one.

I agree with you, i'm getting tired with that those World-Peace ballads from Russia, i know that Russian people loves talk about peace but in the situation where they are currently, it is now tiresome to hear more of the same and i hope that Russia return to their old contemporaneous hits (and risky) from 2012 and from the last decade like Song 1º :)

BTW.. Nyusha released a new song one week ago:

That would be quite interesting Serebro feat Dima Bilan.

Yuri Shatunov

Vera Brezhneva (I know this one's tricky because she was born in Ukraine and her father is half Ukrainian, but she's predominantly active in Russia)

Edited to add: completely forgot about Anastasia Stotskaya

Re: RUSSIA 2016

Since everyone is getting tired of the peace ballads (Polina's 2nd however will probably make them stay on that path :() how about another "Party for Everybody"

Re: RUSSIA 2016

Margarita Pozoyan (Finalist of first season of The Voice Russia) is interested in competing in ESC.

Also Alexander Bon (Another runner up of last season of The Voice) also it could also be an option for Eurovision. Although he belongs to Channel One.

Active or not, she would be eaten alive both by the Russian and Ukrainian public... especially due to current events... I doubt they want another Prikhodko situation

Yeah, I was so happy to see Polina Gagarina this year as a choice only to be totally disappointed to see yet another imported peace ballad in English... such a waste since Polina has good songs in Russian and would be great to see some ACTUAL Russian music on the stage...

Nyusha would be great but only if they let her do something like her actual stuff and not something imported especially for ESC which has no connection to her own music or the Russian music scene in general...

Gosh I want rules back that songs must be made by people connected to the countries' music scenes...

Re: RUSSIA 2016

I don't want see Polina the next year ;) maybe in 2017 or 2018 as well

Her returning would be very unlikely anyway :D but I found it sad to waste that beautiful voice on such a formulaic song.

What about Lena Katina, surely they couldn't boo her.

Nowadays when vocals are more important than the songs they will never send someone who can't sing live...

What about sending the true Polina Gagarina next year? :p

THIS! Send her again with an ACTUAL song that would be representative of her...

THIS is the true Polina:

Oh is Lena that bad, I'd always assumed it was the brunette who couldn't sing out of the two.

She's awesome.

But I feel like I've seen a totally different person in Vienna  this is such a waste. And I'm certain she would have reached the same place in the final had she sung a song like the ones you posted.
