2 A-Lister: Russian anti-gay propaganda has nothing to do with a show that starts after 9 pm, plus they can mark it 18+ and then it's totally cool to go as gay as it's possible :D
It's only against gay propaganda among teenagers in media. All our TV shows marked 18+ do whatever the heck they want ;)

Re: RUSSIA 2014

Well... There are more than 30 countries participating. I'm sure that there is enough space for half-naked hot men! :D

Its kind of odd when you think about it. ESC usually has its fair share of half-naked women but you never really see half-naked men unless their backing a half-naked woman

The solo male singers are usually pretty covered up in comparison, but I suppose that's true for the music industry in general. It would be a pretty strange to see a half-naked man at ESC being front and center for once ;)

I see! If this is how those laws look like, then I don't see why the world is so over-their-heels over this

Because people like biatching
But on a serious note, Russia is not convenient to some monster-countries, our president is not an obedient puppet, that's why world media is constantly trying to show it as a tyrany and despoty with no democracy whatsoever) It's all BS, take all you hear and devide it by 1000;)
My gay friends laughed so hard when heard what people abroad think about this law, in their words "Did people actually read the law? Or they just hear barking and assume there's a dog in the darkness?" :D

On-Topic:
I really want to get something like that one day.

This! I always try to explain to people here that the laws aren't forbidding homosexuality, but no one ever listens :(

Now THAT is something I'd love to hear from Russia! I demand something in Russian and ethno-ish for a change! This is great! Those men in high-heels can stay at home and the cheese from 2013 will be all forgiven if Russia would send anything as great as this! Russia is playing it way too safe in ESC, it's a pity considering Russia is a huge country with a beautiful language and a rich culture.

The problem is that the laws are so loosely defined, that you can do what you want with them. What counts as propaganda? That's left open to interpretation. Similarly, what counts as hooliganism?

There's also the problem of the corruption and lack of rule of law in Russia.

This documentary gives another view of homosexuality in Russia. It goes all over the world, but lands in Russia at 1hr 21mins.

This is highly off-topic, but do you think British PC media and politicians will condemn if a gay gets beaten to death in a sharia controlled zone in London? I know that in Sweden they would be quiet if this would happen atleast and something tells me they would try to cover it up in the UK aswell...

Point being: The west can have a holy Gloria on their head, but are in fact not that good themselves when it comes to really caring for the LGBT community, in fact it's all just shallow hypocrisy.

As for the laws in Russia, the issue is that it seems loosely defined (just as you point out), but I think I'll have to trust Odalis on this one and as a gay person myself, I don't even see the big issue xshrug... but yeah, I'll watch this docu you posted later on.

Sure, Russia is no heaven for gay people and they need to make lots of process, but the west is not that good either (they just pretend they are).

Yes it is massively off-topic to extend this conversation to radical Islam, but yes, such an incident would be a big story in this country and the perpetrators rightly prosecuted. There's a big enough fuss when Islamists try to stop people drinking alcohol.

I know it's off-topic, but my point is that the west is not as holy and liberal as they pretend to be, in many cases they are quiet in the name of political correctness which directly harms communities like the LGBT one.

Well, that's good for the UK, in the "holy of the holiest" land in Sweden we had incidents like that and no one in media or in politics stood up and condemned it... yet Sweden is condemning the laws in Russia...

However, dunno when this turned into a discussion about LGBT laws etc. I was just curious about how Russian TV would handle certain aspects of ESC (and acts like Kazaky ), but I have to trust Odalis word on this.

Only two of them are actually sorta attractive, the one on the left is fugly and the other one next to him looks like a teeny munk slut

I like all of them. ;) I'll have to inspect them to see if they have big potential. (O) It is needed for going to Eurovision. :p
