Re: РОССИЯ - Russia 2011

Panaiotov said that he will participate only when broadcaster asks him. Until then he won't take part in NFs.
Hard to believe though  (he complains after NFs all the time, and in a few months we see him on the NF)

Mark Tishman became the 1st Russian famous performer who announced about his participation in the NF. The song will be released soon.
He participated in Russian Star Factory in 2007.
Here's an example:
I don't think that he has high chances. I want Booranovskiye Babushki again :)

I watched Star Factory 7 and cheered for Mark. I love the way he sing and compose songs.
Also I would like to see in your national final group "In-Yan". They look very modern and good-tasted. I think they can bring a new hit to ESC

Re: РОССИЯ - Russia 2011

Meladze said that he wants VIA Gra on Eurovision ... I also like In' Yan' but if VIA Gra are gonna try for 2012 then everything is obvious
In' Yan' performed on our Star Factory as guests, recently they release their singles in Ukraine and only then in Russia, 2 band members are Ukrainians so they would suit NF rules :)
I doubt that someone from Meladze has chances in Russia so it makes sense.

Mark has got broadcaster's support but again, I'm not sure that it would appeal to Europe. If he wins it will be something for ex-USSR only, like Nalitch. Less unusual but more tasteful, still not enough for top-10.

^ Their live vocals suck though :( so maybe we should borrow them to Russia
j/k. I doubt that Meladze is really interested in ESC after Pryhod'ko.
+ I doubt even more that Russian broadcasters would make a stake on Ukrainian performers after Pryhod'ko (it's rather political reason + they like being represented by Russian performers).

Naaw... Babushki were cute but I'd agree I'd rather have rus-pop... this time in RUSSIAN thank you very much!!

Vintazh, MakSim, Via Gra, Yin Yan, Chi-Li, Sogdiana, Alsou, Vera Brezhneva, Victoria Daineko, Byanka, Nyusha, Varvara etc. ... there are plenty of good options to choose from here!

Yes I know that they aren't all "russian" (Via Gra - 2/3 Ukrainian, Yin Yan - 2/4 Ukrainian, Sogdiana - Uzbek, Vera - Ukrainian, Byanka - Belarussian), but they all got careers in Russia and I think most of them live there aswell?

Re: РОССИЯ - Russia 2011

^ out of those non-Russian only Sogdiana lives there. B'yanka is between Minsk and Moscow.
Vintazh are too big for ESC and I'm not sure in their live vocals.
MakSim is not interested as well as Alsou.
Varvara and Nyusha can try :)
The rumored name is ... Pelageya. + She's been in the jury this year.
As for Russian language - a lot of people are upset actually, the media slam both broadcasters for that.

Well I'm not surprised alot of these acts wouldn't want to, but those are just suggestions.

Do you think Sogdiana would be interested?

Who's Pelagya?

Yeah I know what's up with the language thing? Russia has already won this and got top 3 a couple of times already, they don't need to prove anything really. Russian is such a beautiful language and also a major world language, I don't get why they need to stick with English all the time.

Pelageya could be a good choice, with the right entry. Both these songs sound quite interesting :)

Mark Tishman hasn't decided if he will participate... according to his own interview on the radio, but he has a new song in English.
