You will see again Paula and Ovi this year with a better song than Playing with fire. Ovi is very proud and happy with the song made by him with the Danish composer Philip Halloun and helped by his Norwegian team from Beyond51 Productions. He is sure that will be a better result than in 2010.

win or 2nd place... he said that he has a winner material, but maybe is not Romania's year. You know how was last year with Denmark, esc fans knew, EBU knew everybody knew that Denmark will win if Emmelie don't puke on stage. With a perfect camera work, much much much better than any other artist. There were better acts, but with no such a good camera work. I still think that the winner is decieded by EBU at the meeting of head of delegations from the begining of March. They know all the songs then and choose some favorites and... Maybe at the meeting from 2014 they will deciede that is time of Romania.

As much as I love me some conspiracy theories every now and then, I can't join in on this one. There have been years where I'm almost convinced that the wins were fixed, but Emmelie was a pre-favorite from the get-go so as far as the whole "better camera work" and what else, nah, I can't see it.
However, I do agree that probably with this idiotic new corrupt and non-transparent "producers chose the running order" system they introduced, they try to atleast influence the outcome and also then there's the pre-hype that is partly biased built-up (more so by the local media though), but other than that I highly doubt anything else was "fixed" this year. If Emmelie wouldn't have been such a big pre-favorite, then sure I may have agreed with you (still not seeing your point about camera work though, I think it's a bit in your hear
).

Oh well, hopefully the song is good. The 2010 entry was good, but I wouldn't have put it in the top. 3 though, it wasn't THAT special?

I think their 3rd place was an example of performance elevating the song. Its okay in studio form but live it really came to life. The double sided piano was clever, the fire was cool and Paula looked hot. They had great chemistry and a lot of attitude, they really sold it.
The performance will be tough to top, I can't wait to see what they do this time around.

I'm one of those who don't think very highly of "Playing with Fire". I think it's a classic example of a formulaic song: very effective in its production and execution, but seems to have been composed by a computer programme (like everything will.i.am does).

I agree. I never understood how Playing with Fire could do that well. It was highly voted for by the nordic countries; 10p from No/Sw, 8p from De and 5p from Ic....

she is truly a fantastic performer and imo the best voice Romania has at this moment.
Her performances are classy and never disappoint, and even more, that video is a proof that she can sing anything.
