Re: ROMÂNIA - Romania 2011

English wins becausepeople can associate with the words the most
PERIOD
Why argue about it? That is a fact

Period period.. sorry mate but firstly it's not only about winning all the time, and i'm sorry for you just seeing music out of this perspective. I want good songs firstly and often the best songs never wins anyhow, secondly you are not the source of truth and your opinion is not a truth, it's your opinion.

If you think that people vote in Eurovision primarily because of the lyrics then it's up to you to believe so, I really beg to differ. Eurovision has never been known for its "brilliant lyrics".

I dont think it matters the language that the song is in, what matters is the song and the way it's sung ;). For me, Id certainly much rather hear a song sung in a native-language than one sung in English when the singer cant speak English properly, let alone sing it - that's just embarrassing .
The reason most winners have been in English and why English songs are the most successful is for the simple reason that there are more English songs to start with.

Re: ROMÂNIA - Romania 2011

I will try to clarify my opinion here:

1. I don't like songs in Romanian because we don't have dance songs (Romanian bliping noise) and ballads in Romanmian and for me any other genre than toshe two is not my cup of tea.
2. I do like songs in native language in Eurovision in general but there are some native languages that sound awful to my ear, and my language is one of them
3. I don't like English balladsas much as I like ballads in Croatian, Serbian (languages from Former Yugoslavia)
4. IMO, the only language made 100 % for singing is Spanish, as I love even Rock songs in Spanish and I hate Rock
5. Every country can sing in the language they like. Romanian singers prefer not to sing in Romanian because that might show they don't have good vocals

Every language can sound well in a song, depends on what the lyrics are and whether or not they go well with the music well, plus how the singer sings them... Liking certain genres of music in certain langauges also sounds kinda weird to me... And I doubt English can disguise their inability to sing properly (the singers)...

That's the Romanian mentality! If we do something good we don't like it and we criticise it but if Americans would do the same thing we apreciate it because :us: always makes great stuff

Claudia need to be perfect if she wanna win. She is not able to sing perfect and to have a communication with the camera. WIthout this she is zero. For me is no doubt that Directia 5 will represent Romania.

I think the best performance out of those 4 was given by Dalma. Too bad she doesnt have a better song.

,,Open your eyes" is going to win! :?

It is the second favorite, but too many voices will ruin the song. I personally prefer Directia 5. I guess they will be able to qualify in the final with their huge experience.

Re: ROMÂNIA - Romania 2011

Letitia's interview for Esctoday:

Letitia Moisescu is one of the favourites to win Romania's national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011. As her entry, Dreaming of you, is currently second in our poll, esctoday.com decided to get a exclusive interview of the Romanian artist.

Hello! The international fans of the Eurovision Song Contest are very curious to know more about you. What should the european public know about Letitia Moisescu?

Hello! Hello! I'm a natural, very energetic girl, with a lot of love for everything around me and with a lot of commitment for my job as an artist. I'm singing since I was a little child. A very funny fact of my childhood is that I used to blackmail my brother with sweets in order to convince him to become my audience [laughs]. I had graduated the Sigismund Toduta musical highschool at classic canto section. I have performed even in Japan so I learnt to sing in Japanese and Korean languages. Over the years I had many artistic joys. I come from a traditionally music family as my mother is a Romanian traditional singer herself, so she has guided me to follow the classes of a music school. In one word I can say that music flows through my veins.

Your song was warmly welcomed by our readers. How would you describe your Eurovision entry, Dreaming of you?

I am extremly happy to hear that people love this song. This is exactly our wish: to make people love this song as we do. Dreaming of you is a melodic, full of delicate nuance, sensitivity and originality song.

This is your first participation in Romania's national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. What's your opinion about how the preparations of the TVR team are ongoing?

From my point of view everything is well organized. I'm waiting for the final and I completly trust TVR.

Have you listened to the other competing songs? What's the competition level from your point of view?

Yes, I have listened to all the songs, but I can't say anything for the moment as all of them are at a high level. We shall see after the final who deserved to represent our country.

How much do you know about the Eurovision Song Contest? Do you usually watch this contest anually?

Yes I am, otherwise I wouldn't be here. I have all the Eurovision records since 1956 till 2010 as I consider it a great music treasure of the entire Europe.

Considering the fact that Romania ranked third this year in Oslo, do you feel any kind of pressure from the Romanian public in order to determine this year's Eurovision hopefuls to achieve a better result?

Every country's wish is to get the first place, but I wouldn't say that I feel any kind of pressure. The 3rd position is a very good placing and we hope that in 2011 Romania will finish as high as this year.

If you win the international final in Düsseldorf, what will be the first thing you would do when returning to Romania?

During the first days I'll be overexcited, then I will show my gratitude and satisfaction to those who stood beside me and believed in me and of course I'll start working on completing a new album and I'll try to encourage new talents by my success.

Do you have any message for the readers of esctoday.com?

On the first place - to believe in me. I wish that everyone will get to feel exactly what I'm feeling when I'm performing this song. In other words: "When words no longer have a purpose, music will have its say". I'm embracing you with great love and I hope that we will get to see each other in Düsseldorf.
