Re: ROMÂNIA - Romania 2011

The songs in Romanian are beautiful, but only we can understand the lyrics. I agree with the English at Eurovision, but I don't agree with Lucian. Music in Romanian sounds very beautiful and it can be interesting for many people to hear it. I also don't agree with Hungary, Slovenia or Portugal who send songs only in thier language. I pesonally prefer that the song in ESC to have few words in Romanian, but only if we are talking about a balade.

I didn't know English was the language of Romania? :?

This is EUROvision not ANGLOvision, Europe is much more diverse than that and our languages makes us unique and is something we should embrace and not sell out.

Music is universal and for sure it's more interesting to hear Romanian than English. This is not abour reading poetry.

i prefer to listen a song in a language that i understand ..even if is a beautiful language it sucks when u have no clue of what they are singing there and you have to look all over the internet to see what they are singing about...and is also pretty weird to vote for a song without knowing what is about..

Well, except for the songs from Vunk all the songs in Romanian language are bad. All of them are Hip-Hop or Rock. We don't have any House son in Romanian language and House is the Romanian genre....

Yes we have Vunk, DJ Project & Giulia, Hip-Hop and some rock-bands with tradition. DJ Project's songs are boring. They have the same song from 2004, but unlike others they have the same sugra-ish lyrics as well

Interesting you say this since I've heard alot of songs in Romanian, especially club/dance music.

As for the "people understand English" part; that's just ridiculous nonsense. Eurovision is not known for it's "brilliant lyrics" and for sure Europe is much more diverse and interesting than that. If you guys think people generally listen to the lyrics, you should think again.

What songs did you hear exepct from DJ Project? Don't give me that Activ, Crush & Alexandra Ungureanu etc. as those bands are dead for 2 years by now. Except for DJ Project did you hear any club/dance song in Romanian that is not older than 2 years?

Here is one good song in romanian released this year:

That song is actually 4 years old! It had it's premiere at RMA 2007 and even if it was new it's still not House, it's more Hip Hop. I mean a song that contains ,,The Romanian bliping noise" wich means a combination betwen House and Manele :D

Who criticized your entries? :?

I criticized the view that entries must be in English, not the entries itself, there's a big difference.

That`s really sad :(

Anyways a dance song in romanian like "Tornero" in 2006 would be a nice entry from Romania.

Or why not a rock song?

Yes! We have House songs even in Greek! :D

Wel, not even :se: that is the 2nd most succesful Eurovision country doesen't send songs in national language. I don't remember a song in Sweedish for years. Even this year when they had that awesomes ,,Kom" they prefered a song in English!

... and I'm one of the Swedes who WANTS us to send entries in our native language, as a matter of fact I wanted "Kom" to win last year, so don't blame me for that.

I think the more native languages in Eurovision, the better!

But Sweden is a generally self-loathing country, so I'm not surprised "Kom" didn't make it, even our biggest newspaper (which happens to be one of the worst newspapers in whole Europe) had a sort of hate campaign against that song, simply because it had some folk elements. This newspaper happens to hate Sweden in general
