I've got associations with Estonia 2011 (colors and skyscrapers) & Russia 2016 for Greece, but obviously it's more hip & modern. I didn't associate this song with purple and I've been expecting more epic staging after those spoilers of her working in the gym, but it looks great together. If they fix those screw ups with chroma key it can definitely end up in my top 5 (my #10 previously, so it's an upgrade).

I don't remember a eurovision where ALL the songs had 4 backing dancers doing a perfectly rehearsed choreography like this one.

Sertab, Ruslana and Helana would be proud

This part they showed us looks like a Riga party performance. 😂 But since people are talking about Russia 2016 style props, I stay optimistic. She sounds good and the song is still fine 🙌🏻

I hope they showed the most unexciting part of the performance, otherwise what did they mean with fancy staging.
By default, a performance that is based on green screen can’t really be visible in the first videos. I think if she fixes the last high note, she can do a top 10.

Thoughts on today so far.

:sm: Disappointing - but expectations were very high. The condom hats are strange, there's very little colour and it looks quite dark overall. How is staging is so bland in comparison to her amazing music video? She sounded awesome though and it might look completely different on TV. Still a sure qualifier.

:ee: Exactly what I imagined it would look like. Nothing special visually but probably works for the song. Not enough to qualify in my opinion.

:cz: Very solid! I wouldn't be surprised if this does very well. It's not a personal favorite of mine but the vocals were strong, and the staging looked simple but effective.

:gr: They don't reveal much in the clip, but she looks incredible and sounds good! You can cherrypick quotes from the ESCUnited panel to fit your preconceived opinions - they had positive and negative criticism, which is fair. Looking forward to the finished product. Sure qualifier.

Decided to put this here, because Montaigne deserves some love.

Poor girl it's never easy when she is the only one not going, especially this is her second try.

If the pandemic situation got better, I really hope Australia will give Montaigne her deserved chance again to stand on the big ESC stage in the future. She deserves it.

I feel sorry for Australia, it feels like they are not even competing. I hope televoters and juries will not ignore them, but I kinda feel it might happen.

Agreed, and that's so bad for Montaigne. I find it heartbreaking for her, but simultaneously I can't help thinking that I'd feel bad for someone else to NQ if Australia does qualify, and miss the grand final while Montaigne is not there to attend. I know that's not fair towards Australia but.. yeah

I agree. I know it's not Montaigne's fault. As much I as empathize with her and feel really bad for her, but if she qualifies to the grand final without being there in Rotterdam, I don't know how it will sits with me when the other delegations make the effort and took the risk to go down physically. The only way to right the situation is to send Montaigne again as Australia's representative in the future contest.

It can still be a juries favourite. Clean staging, just the focus on the singer. If he sounds well and adds some emotion to it, you never know what the juries are going to do. But it will be a borderliner still.

With that being said, it's pretty unlikely that Australia Q tbh
