I have a really hard time trying to predict the winner of this semi-final.
I feel like Malta will possibly be way overrated by the juries and have the biggest TV-Jury difference, but not sure if they can get that much of a bump by the jury to win the whole SF. Same for Sweden, and for Ukraine, but the other way around (plus I feel like some western audience might find it a bit too jarring still, unfortunately)
Can't see Lithuania picking up enough jury points to challenge for the semi win, and I can't really see anyone else getting enough points from both to be an easy outright winner. It's gonna be really tight at the top if Malta continues to fail to deliver.
Maybe Cyprus will end up as a compromise between both sides? They did very well on the Eurojury and Elena showed today that she can sing.

Based on the first rehearsals, my guess for qualifying would be (random order):
Q :mt: :ua: :ru: :il: :lt: :se: :hr: :cy: :be: :ie:
NQ :mk: :sl: :ro:  :az: :au:

Borderline qualifiers for me would be :ie: and :az: I think, could easily switch between 10th/11th. Also, :au: could surprise and qualify. Or :hr: doesn't. It's really hard to predict, I can see all but :mk: qualifying one way or another

kinda warming up to Norway honestly but If it took some time for me, I guess it's gonna take some time for a lot of viewers and hearing the song juste one time (and the first time) during the SF won't maybe be enough for people to understand what they just saw and vote for it.
This kind of song will greatly take advantage of a second performance when people are finally warmed up, the difficult part is going to get through the SF though.
I think it is the opposite it. The song is shallow with everything about it visually very in your face, there is no good underlying instrumental either that you start noticing more and more with repeated listenings. That having said  is very likely to Q. I dislike this entry personally.

The melody is fairly simple, easily hummable but it sounds uninspiring to me

:cy: really my winner for today, Elena slayed, sexy (but not vulgar),vocally on point, and the performance on point!!!
 as expected and upgraded from MGP. The lack of recorded back vocals really gives him more vivid vibes, nicely done!
:hr: wow, an improvement, she needs to be vocally better with thehight notes, and I'd burn the outfits, but choreo and performance on point
:be: a bit underwhelming, a bit too static.. I guess the camera angles are important for this one, Geike is serving vocals
:il: too basic, nothing stands out, flat..
:ro: oh poor babe, the vocals were not even that bad, it's just she looked nervious and lost on stage
:ua: wow wow wow, second best rehearsal for sure, everything looks so wow!
:mt: LOL, if this wasn't overhyped by Maltese delegation and bc of Destiny's vocals, this would end the journey in semi final. What an unpleasant mess.
oh I forgot about :az: basic, nothing new, she was vocally on point, but damn she can't dance, meh

I'm changing my mind y'all sleeping on Israel should definitely qualify

I could totally see this happening. I'm not vibing with this entry at all but I can feel that the jury will have her back.

Why is it something wrong with Destiny's outfit comparing to let's say Albinas? Both are quite sexy and show body, so I hope that people aren't judging Destiny different, just because she is a little bigger....

As a woman an pro-body positivity, I allow myself to say no. I don't see people disliking this outfit because of fatphobia, myself included. Destiny is a beautiful woman but that dress what unflattering because of its color. With destiny's skin color, a beautiful orange or green would have complimented her way better than the bright pink dress she's in. The black body she's wearing in the videoclip is as short and yet it suits her a lot.

Anyway, today I felt in love with Ukraine and Cypus (mind you, I don't even like the song to begin with but I ended up singing the chorus in my head the whole day). They will do damages in this semi final !

:mt: I don't know who thought that the dress was a good idea to be worn by Destiny. Other than that it was what I expected. I wasn't high on the song before and today probably did things worse.

Cyprus: have always liked the song , has a good competitive vocal and staging

Norway: Never liked the English version of the song , staging is same 'tacky' and vocal is good , nothing changes here

Croatia: Decent song, staging is a bit messy as I read , vocals are ok , still confused about where this will go

Belgium: Great vocals , non-existent staging , don't think the jury will elevate this enough

Israel: Apparently the dress is horrendous but I can't see which part to find horrendous , staging is a bit messy , vocals are good , don't see Croatia beating this

Romania: Great song , done way too much with the staging ,so much so that her vocals have become the worst of the semi , this is in trouble , Romanian Televote has been non-existent in 2018/19 and if this doesn't go down well with jury its not good news

Azerbaijan: I like the song , staging is not that bad , Dancing is too non-charismatic , background backing too loud , I didn't find it very disappointing but the bookies have

Ukraine: I don't like the song , but she sang well and they have created a mood on the stage , perfect staging , this will qualify through both jury and Televote

Malta: Don't really like the song , the dress doens't suit her , didn't see her move at all , the vocal was really good , Jury will reward this , the televote will not

My prediction of safe Q:
Lithuania , Sweden , Russia , Cyprus , Ukraine , Malta

Non-Q: North Macedonia

:cy: Solid staging. Absolutely nothing wrong with it but nothing exactly groundbreaking either. My original opinion of the song hasnā€™t changed - middle of my ranking. Sure qualifier though!

 No surprises. I didnā€™t like our staging in MGP, I still donā€™t like it. He was definitely holding back with his vocals which is absolutely fine for a tech rehearsal in my opinion. Would I be disappointed if we donā€™t qualify? No. Do I think we will qualify? Yes.

:hr: This was fine. Good choreography! I donā€™t mind poor vocals in tech runs, but I donā€™t see anything in the staging which will make the song more memorable for voters. Borderline qualifier for me.

:be: How do you make a melancholic song stand out? With dark, low energy, uninteresting staging apparently. Itā€™s a very difficult song to stage properly but Iā€™m not confident about Belgiumā€™s qualification anymore.

:il: I actually donā€™t mind this staging at all. It fits the song. Unfortunately, the entire production is slightly below par for me. Eden looked and sounded great though!

:ro: Iā€™m so disappointed by this. Yes the vocals were a little off but like I said before, iā€™m happy to forgive that in a tech run. My problem is the staging doesnā€™t highlight the artist, and makes it more difficult for her to perform. Still love the song, but hard to see it qualifying.

:ua: Made my day! Amazing production. Love everything about it. Sure qualifier!

:mt: I donā€™t think this is as bad as people are saying. Some are very happy with an another excuse to shout ā€œoverratedā€. However, this staging is definitely not at Eurovision winning level. I donā€™t mind the outfits, but the production seems very basic and doesnā€™t elevate the song. Flawless vocals of course.

EDIT:

:az: I had already forgotten about them. Probably not a good sign

My overall thoughts:

:lt: They seem to be delivering what is expected of them though I 've grown reeeeally tired of these "quorky hand movements". Still a definite qualifier.

:sl: Nice backdrop but not much else to talk about, probably out.

:ru: The staging is fine but it doesn't live up to its full potential. They could have elevated it even more. More likely a qualifier.

:se: Boring. Will qualify and get a typical Swedish result.

:au: Not enough to judge.

:mk: They are making an effort with the staging and I appreciate that. I am starting to believe they will avoid last place but qualification has never been up for grabs.

:ie: I am very excited by what they are trying to do. If it comes together they can have their best result in a very long time, but if it fails it will be a NQ.

:cy: They seem to be delivering better than I expected. I considered them borderline but now their chances have grown.

 No major changes, they remain borderline.

:hr: I never liked the song and I find Albina very underwhelming both in vocals and performance skills. I don't think they will come close to qualifying.

:be: It gives a very strict vibe. Of course the staging would be relatively simple but it looks really dark. The music video had more layers and quirks. Still they serve something different from anyone else and they do so very competently so I see them qualifying.

:il: Nothing too impressive about the staging but nothing that drags it down either. Eden has more charisma than some of her direct competition (Elena, Albina, Efenti) and I think it will be enough for a qualification.

:ro: I actually like everything about the staging and I like the song. If the vocals don't go too wrong they are in.

:az: Meh. Will probably qualify in 10th place because they always get an extra boost from the televote.

:ua: The best by a mile.

:mt: I have always found the hype around them to be inflated. They were always going to qualify no matter what, they are never going to win no matter what. The outfit is horrible. The background is horrible. The combination of the two is demonic. Here's to hoping my girl SJB has been team Gjon since last year and is making a super staging for him while passing over the bad stuff to other competitors.

If Eden hits those notes at the end it's a done deal. She'll get an easy jury top 5 in this semi-final.
Apparently she did all 4 times during the rehearsals. I'm getting mixed reviews for Israel's rehearsal performance though. I've been reading and watching reactions for those who have access to the full rehearsals. Some love it and say it's qualifying, some are unsure and some say it's lackluster. It's so weird. Like are these people even watching the same rehearsals?

And I have to put this out here, it's unfortunate that Israel comes after Croatia because I've read many comments they share similar colour palette in their stagings. I wonder if any of these 2 delegations will do anything about it.

And those delusional fans actually comment that Israel is copying Croatia. Like WTF?
If Israel is to come before Croatia in the running order, are these delusional cray-cray fans happy if the same thing is said to them?

I'd say even Lithuania or Cyprus. SOme countries will be high with televote but lowish with juries (Ukraine, Russia, Norway), and vice versa (Malta, Sweden, Belgium maybe or SLovenia).. SO the winner is maybe between these two.
