Lots of morbidly obese people swear they're healthy and can dance around perfectly fine. Healthy at every size, they say...

And Netta looked more energetic. I remember her rehearsals also being mweh though, so we shall see.

Guys, while going over your posts, all I can say is that almost not a single song stands out as a clear favorite. Perhaps Cyprus is gathering most praise and recognition. As a result, I like how things are developing, because it shows only how open this semi is. Some of the strong fan favorites did not meet expectations, in fact, some look pretty bland and unimpressive.
I must admit that Cyprus actually does look like the strongest contender to take this semi at this point. But, let's wait and see the clips of the second rehearsals. These will already give us a taste how things will look on the screen. Some amazing stagings may look poorly on small TV screens and vice versa.
However, I must say one last thing - I really do not understand how people like Lithuania. And please, do not think that I have something against the group, because last year I really loved their song and considered them for a serious contender to take the whole thing home. This year, however.... I can't, I can't.

Their reviews are really boring this year, I have to admit. Very predictable, a very little critical approach or open opinions.

I started to follow other sites this year to get more details.

Ukraine clearly stood out today, it is a wonderful snippet of the rehearsal..
Israel, Malta, Croatia are all the same to me.. They are not unique just a bit.. They dont offer anything new, at least I loved Israeli outfit, while Croatian is really bad, and not to mention Malta, it is simply terrible... If Malta wins 2021 ESC I will be way too disappointed, it will be such a step down.. :(

@Mrm - yes, dear. I think that Romania was the worst today. Not only cuz of vocals, but the whole staging was a mess. She is running around, being pushed around. I hope this looks and sounds better on screen. Matt and almost everyone said that Albina unfortunately butchered high notes and that she needs to fix it. As regards Malta, well, gurl, at least pull up both boots to the same height. If this was intentionally done, she failed. It looks like a dress malfunction and reminds me of Jelena Karleuša's problem during one of her shows....
All in all, Cyprus looks as the most complete package at the time being, though I have one other small issue with this whole song. It looks and sounds like Lady Gaga. The Boris guy with Matt today talked about derivative song, yet I must say that El Diablo really sounds like Lady Gaga 10 years ago and this Spanish reference El Diablo recalls me Eleni Foureira's El Fuego. Basically, there is not one single outstanding song/performance at this point. Not even Russia.... You know I love Russia, but this year, I can't make peace with this song. I don't know, I really don't know.

If I were the juri memeber, I would send Belgium, Croatia, Israel and Azerbaijan to the final.
But this is difficult to arrange. In this case NQ Norway and Romania. If Roxen improves her vocals, she also cannot but be taken to the final, she has an interesting song. And I don’t see Tix’s NQ, his vocal is good.

Bloody semi-final :cry:

My opinion
Cyprus - not that sure about the mirror, but I guess it will look good on camera. Probably the best rehearsal today, colors were amazing.
Norway - the same thing as MGP, which I think isn't that good, but I hope he goes through
Croatia - positive surprise, it's obvious they worked hard
Israel - idk why everyone likes it, seems kinda cheap, I thought they'll Q but I'm not so sure anymore
Belgium - those eyes are really weird, it would be way better without them
Romania - well I thought before rehearsals they would flop, but I didn't expect it to be this bad
Ukraine - looks messy zoomes out, but I'm sure it would work with the camera angles
Malta - I don't think it was that bad, could have been better, but I still think this is a strong contender to win
Azerbaijan - my biggest disappointment from today, this staging really does not suit the song at all, could have been a safe top 10 but now probably around 20th place

So, just a few details on why I think Malta is bad:

The outfits are horrible. You sing a song about female empowerment and you have what on stage? Pink glittery suits and thin dancers next to which Destiny appears like a cannon ball. Plus she didn’t gave me the vibe of being confident - she seemed feeling awkward in that dress. Just give her something she‘s more confident in wearing.
You don’t want toyboys but look like a stripper.

Ukraine: I absolutely love it but it could be a bit too much. It looks like Jamie-Lee versus Horehronie and we all know how they ended. I also wish they would dance like in the video and not like stomping vikings but I hope it will be enough to convince juries.
