From winner potential with Josh to guaranteed NQ with Napa. If only the tie had benefited Diana Vilarinho... I hope Portugal next year comes back on track, because wasting the best FdC in years with this outcome is just insane... I'm giving this :2: points.

You literally had Josh AND Fernando, Portugal.
There goes your Q streak...
I got too bored to listen to it in full, so its :2: for now, the lead singer is cute xblush but I dont love the way hes singing
If it grows on me or I manage to partly understand why it won I will upgrade

Their music talks about what it's like to leave the island (Madeira), and their support was merely regional, and students displaced from home.

They would have received a low score from the jury, but they were awarded 12 points by the jury from their own region. It's a scandal...
Okay, yes, that was what I was thinking about the very diverse jury points - that they had to do with local interests.

I find it baffling how the judges do not to care how songs are staged.
RTP needs a eurovision ready package, they don't have much time to work and they need someone that can do that for them and that someone isn't Napa. RTP is totally screwed regarding the staging and I really doubt that they will be able to luck out as they did with Black Mamba or Maro in the past.
I don't know the criteria that they give to the judges, but they need to revamp things next year...

There are thousands of comments around the internet about their victory. People are really mad about RTP.
Yeah! I'm watching them too. People are going craaaazy. RTP being RTP will be like "Oh we stand by artists, respect artists" blah blah.

I really hope they just give up. Like NO ONE wants them. Literally no one. It's like 95% complaining and 5% supporting.

RTP needs international jury. ASAP. They keep inviting "professional juries". Like dude it's the international public that vot at eurovision so can we actually do the same here?

They also need to stop making the FdC super "alternative and the lyrics meaning and blablabla" like. I'm fuming.

Some hours ago, I realised they need to create a staging for them in 2 days... Literally 2 days. Let's assume they were not expecting this victory. They are not bad at doing stagings for slow songs, but well..

the last national decision of the season was a very bitter experience - so many good songs available and then to choose the banana?
of the good songs in the final, cotovia grows the most for me - could have been the highest quality ballad in basel (the same could be said of josh).
a xrose for diana vilarinho.:12:

I listened to it way too much a month or so ago, so the magic has faded a little bit for me. But still, a very lovely song. I think people singling out the appeal of the song as only a regional pride thing are wrong, as a non-native speaker I just really like the melody and the song's structure. However indie rock is the only genre I listen to normally so I am not the most unbiased judge hehe.

I wonder how they will stage it? I really hated Black Mamba when they won, but they ended up turning that into something decent. The main problem here is all the constant zoom outs, they seem to feel the need to show the entire band all the time. And the lead singer has poor camera contact and likes closing his eyes.
