In this moment I'm feeling almost the same level of being pissed/furious on juries as when clown Raab was robbing us of "Knightclub" in Germany. No words.

🔥xmetal🇵🇹Henka🤝Feuerschwanz🇩🇪xmetal🔥
After I saw this outcome tonight, my instant thought was: We can be happy we had Raab. :ROFLMAO: He might have been wrong how he did it, but it was the best choice for ESC.

Some hours ago, I realised they need to create a staging for them in 2 days... Literally 2 days. Let's assume they were not expecting this victory. They are not bad at doing stagings for slow songs, but well...
They can stage a moody song like "Saudade Saudade" or "O Jardim", but "Deslocado" is not a moody song, the focus of it are the lyrics. What can they do? Will they put photos from Madeira on the ledwall and call it a day? Theres no way for them to salvage this song for mass appeal and with Portugal performing in the first half it will be easily forgotten.

Who wants to bet we will be performing at number 2?

I didn’t watch the whole final - I was just too tired and it was too late. But I did see their performance and my first thought was : „Ok, that‘s the filler of tonight. They don‘t even have the slightest chance“. But then I thought: „It’s Portugal - you never can be sure of nothing“.
And here we are.

:3: points for the moment. Work on the falsetto parts (or better cut them out, cuz they sound like a cat on the fence) and I may upgrade it to :4: or even :5:

SF1 NQs: Portugal, Slovenia, Iceland, Azerbaijan, Croatia

Well,

unpopular opinion, but I think both Slovenia and Portugal have more chances than Belgium and Poland. Do you really think that only one slow song (the Netherlands) will qualify?

And also with Italy, Spain and Switzerland voting...

What do you want RTP to do?

Is it their fault that the favourites didn't do well with the televote?

Henka was never going to do well with the jury anyway.

And haven't we always praised Portugal for not fitting into what Eurovision supposedly sounds like? Why are we changing it so that they should send what fits Eurovision and not what's Portuguese in its heart?

I personally really, really vibe with the song and I hope Eurovision becomes a competition where songs like this bloom. And not a competition where being loud means being the most competitive.

I do agree Belgium is at risk. I don't personally like it at all and it's not getting a great fan reaction despite initial hype. I'm not convinced casual viewers will connect with it.

Not a fan of Poland personally but I think it's enough of a package to qualify.

You raise a good point on the 'slow song qualifier'. I do think Hollow was a stronger song than HMTDWHL although I hadn't expected it to qualify.

The regional jury system just doesn't make sense and gives room to regional favouritism. That's not hard to understand. Also, a full points system (so for example, Henka gets 268 points from the televotes and not just a "12" because she won it) shows better how the voting differences were.

Personally I do feel in NF's juries should have less influence as you want your country's ESC fans behind the song at least. Just have some people do commentary or have the juries at like 25-40% of the vote at a maximum.

In this case I think Napkin would've still won though, no matter what you do. They were second with the televoting (right) and Henka got slaughtered by the juries. Dania or Josh were flopping with the televotes too. So it's hard to see a situation in which Napkin didn't won.
