Hmm ... not a very accessible number. Portugal probably should have chosen some quiet song, since they are good at it, and because there is so much noisy stuff this year. A midtempo guitar song is not a top 10 contender imo. However, Portugal is in the weaker semi 1, so they have chances when it comes to qualifying, but it could easily be a NQ.

A part of me wants to say this song could do better in a year with more uptempo crazy songs but honestly I feel like even in semi final 1 it's kind of competing with Ukraine a bit for votes and I think Ukraine will win that battle.

I won't call it DOA but I do think Portugal's chances are looking very shaky at the moment.

I like the song personally (I'd probably give it a :7:) but I'm very uncertain about it's competitiveness.

Ugh, let's not talk about it
Here's a bit of a more unique take:

I only watched the voting segment of this show, nothing else. The only song I'd listened to in full was Henka's. Everything else I heard from the Misja Eurowizija recap. FDC's songs are almost never to my taste, so my investment here was very low. I tuned in for the voting because I like watching voting lol. With all that context: that was one of the most entertaining voting sequences I've ever seen. It was so chaotic; televote didn't agree with juries, juries didn't agree with fandom, juries didn't agree with... each other. So many plot twists, I had no idea what was coming next! Great TV, 10/10

I’m extremely angry and disappointed with this. Tired of this outdated jury that RTP wants to keep at all costs. Just bring international jury. At least they have no ties with any acts.

And yes absolutely, the Madeira jury should be investigated especially when the spokesperson openly says they are giving points to the guys that are from there. Ridiculous and their vote shouldn’t be considered. But knowing is RTP they won’t be doing nothing.

I would be happy if 5/6 of the songs have won and it happened to win one of the worsts. I probably gonna skip the eurovision season not even worth it.

Bruh for real what is this result. I'm genuinely upset. A 12 pointer and my potential new 1st losing out in a tie to a song I don't like at all. The Portuguese televote did us all dirty there and they shall never be forgiven. I fear this opportunity to hype portugal into an oblivion wont come again for me for quite some time. :2: and be lucky it's not a 1 x

I guess I'm in the minority here, but I grew to really like Deslocado with time. They were my 2nd choice after FD.

And I'm super aware that this is probably DOA but I will still have a glimpse of hope that Europe will see the beauty in this and let us qualify.

And the song can have many interpretations, it's not exclusively about people coming to Portugal from Madeira, it's more about the feeling of missing and being away from home.

It's really interesting how nobody seemed to agree on anything for these votes, like it's actually impressive how divisive everyone managed to be.

At one point Peculiar was getting either 12s or nothing at all.

They probably don't have a chance but I think I'm team NAPA tonight.

I like to think my pessimism manifested this victory 😌

What a beautiful song. This is the side of Portugal I absolutely adore. It's tender, dreamy and I feel is the kind of entry no other country would dare to send. I'm just going to leave this nice little :12: right here and thank you for ending the national final season with this gorgeous treat. I'm going to be coming back to Deslocado again and again.

What do you mean by that, exactly?
Their music talks about what it's like to leave the island (Madeira), and their support was merely regional, and students displaced from home.

They would have received a low score from the jury, but they were awarded 12 points by the jury from their own region. It's a scandal...

Hmm after hearing Deslocado in its entirety, this is hard to access for non-Portuguese audiences. The ONLY (and i mean it) way for it to work is if they could create the perfect mood with the staging - imagine a full dark blue-themed lighting. Not that it improves it enough for winning, but it could reach other audiences by audiovisual means rather than focusing on the song's meaning.

Well, I think that results need to be respected. I will respect this final outcome. It’s just sad that in a year with such great options we end up with this.

It’s a nice song. That’s it. It is absolutely harmless and will probably be completely ignored.

I wish them luck.

It is not about the song.
I am an azorean man living in the mainland for 8 years. Of course, I can relate to this feeling of being "deslocado". I do miss my family and all the things from my hometown.
However, these results were a complete mess. Ridiculous. With the best fdc ever, are we going for a last place, right? Shame on you, RTP.
