I decided to give Fernando the benefit of the doubt based on what I read because I hadn't listened to his song before. Sadly, I must be the only one who wasn't impressed at all. Too repetitive and nothing special (apart from an unfortunate language mistake that a song writer can't commit prefiro isto do que... - prefiro isto a... - I prefer this to that). It's an ungly mistake in :pt:
But it's only my opinion, ofc.

I loved Diana's song and performance xrose and Henka impressed me a lot.

Never thought i'd say this but...Fernando cleared this. Best camera work, quite cinematic and strong climax. Only thing that Napa have is regionalism cause Bombazine are superior in every metric.

Henka girl...wtf was that? Dreadful.

I was listening to the live performance again, was the violin at 2:00 in the studio version?

Edit: No! He revamped the song for the live performance

It’s unfortunate that some of these songs won't make it to the final. Personally, I would swap most of the finalists from Semi 1 with some semi finalists from today. It is what it is. But this semi was definitely much stronger

After watching all the performances my feelings remain unchanged pretty much, Fernando Daniel delivered like I knew he would, has the best overall package IMO and will probably be going to Basel (at least I hope xD)

And I truly believe we can get a good result with him, the staging is smart and his charisma and voice alone would make people gravitate towards the song

Just a quick comment about Fernando. I think he should soften the interpretation a little bit. It was too strong sometimes, and I missed some of the softer parts that exist in the studio version.

I think Josh’s chances dropped a lot after today.

And so did our chances in making a good result.

Regarding Fernando, i don't like his voice (never did) and he shouts way too much.

I mean to be clear he has got a very good performance, better than Josh‘s. But the song is very forgettable while Tristeza is a masterpiece. I would definitely chose Tristeza an work on the staging until May.
There's no "work on the staging until May", each delegation has to send the info regarding their entry a couple days after Melfest. Portugal, like Sweden, only have a couple of days to decide what they want to do on Basel.
Josh does not have a eurovision ready package, Fernando on the other hand...

Well you can still work on it….

Yes but Fernando’s song isn’t doing anything, it’s just there.

Black Mamba also didn't had an eurovision ready package for Eurovision and they did probably the best staging of that edition. I have faith in Josh.
