Josh posted the phrase on his Instagram: we have been reading…

With the publication, he posted a video with his entire team, like on Zoom. The creative director starts the video by saying "There's a lot of work to do, where can we start?" Then everyone talks at the same time.

It's a funny, creative way of saying that they're going to work on improvements.xxclap

Great ! I hope they can make the right changes and RTP accepts every change they want ! Getting rid of this prop should be their absolute priority because the camera work must be focused on him. Do we know if the voting for the grand final, starting on monday the week of the final, will use this current semi-final performance ? or if he can change his performance to the new one ? I hope he can change because it will still penalize him if the other contenders have clean performances, like NAPA, Henka and Fernando Daniel.

Are you aware that they pretty much had that concept from the start? He released a video back in january where you can see people welding the metal structure, the prop is going nowhere and I question how can you have such blind faith in his team considering that nobody told him that wearing a black suit against a black background was a bad idea.
But aswering you question, yes, they will be using the semi videos for promotion, that's what they do every year. People invested on the show will be voting basically based on three things: studio version, semi performance and hope, with the main reason being hope. Sadly most people hasn't realised that Portugal, like Sweden, does not have two months to revamp stuff, we have like two days... So whatever the artists present on the final that will be Portugal's staging in Basel.

The staging is good. They just need to make sure the first minute of the song is fully focused on him with some light effects. From my perspective, the last minute looks amazing.
However, let's play with truth... he downsized his chances. The other three favorites are coming this saturday. Henka and Fernando Daniel are bringing investment to the stage. I have heard about two refusals from RTP about staging plans from Fernando.
So, that studio is super small and RTP does not want to invest more in order to bring quality.

Henka's performance will be messy. She already told that. NAPA will come to the stage as a normal concert. Fernando Daniel wants to win, so it should come in strong shape.

I've loved almost all the latest Portuguese songs.
Please stay faithful to your identity.
No acrobatics no strange stagings
It pays being original and different.
We have enough bombastic loud heavy staged songs. There is still space for raw feelings that Portuguese songs are very able to convey.

Yes i know but he's not forced to keep it after seeing the reactions. Why would they keep a concept that limitate Josh ability to perform his song ? It should have been stayed simple like Salvador with no prop. I don't say i wouldn't work with this prop but i don't think it really elevates his entry too.

If Henka performance is messy and Fernando had plans denied for his staging, then it's amazing news for Josh.

For me the problem with staging, performance and appearance is, that they raise so many questions without giving any answers.

I was watching and waiting and couldn't focus on the - very good - song.

You coment made me wonder, could the refusal be related to the lack of ledwall this year or to technicall limitations? If it's the later, that meand that he already has ideas to scale things up for eurovision and, even tought, I don't think that his song is that impressive, if he goes with a more intimate staging he could stand out, altough he would likely be competing against Mans in the first half and Cyprus and Netherlands in the second, but still... Semi 1 has a lot of loud music so people could gavitate to him due to lack of other options. In a perfect world Fernando would go to eurovision with Josh's song, but we don't live in that world.

You're right, actually. Although it's hard for me to see F.Daniel singing "tristeza, although with a personal arrangement, it would be amazing.

And in 2026, send Henka, by internal selection

With the results of the first semifinal, I am really scared about the next semifinal. I don't know why, but I think the jury can mess up things next Saturday and qualify Luca Argel or Tota, instead of better songs... Not that I don't like their songs; I just think that we have better options and greater songs than that, especially in the second semi. Also, these two were almost DOA for me while I was listening to the FdC album right now I think their qualification is very possible.

Am I the only one thinking about this?

Gonçalo Madaíl (RTP director of programs) said in Antena 1's post-FdC show that Spotify contacted RTP before the 1st semifinal asking to be a partner of the contest, and they even met at Spotify's HQ. The reason was that FdC was the 3rd biggest Eurovision-linked trending show, after Sanremo and Melfest.

Got curious and just listened to Czechia's entry. Had no idea there were other male solos in this line already. However good his song is, and in the current state of affairs, can't see how Josh can ever beat that one TBH.
Anyway, we're already dropping. Surprised it took us so long.

Well, day by day it is getting obvious we need to send a ballad. When I see the line up of 1. Semifinal, my first thought is... this will be noisy.

After first Fdc show, I would be super surprised if Henka wins after all. So, we should be down to Fernando Daniel or Josh in the end.

or NAPA. Who's the most likely to be the closest to Josh in the juries between both Fernando Daniel and NAPA according to you ? What would be your bet ? They could beat Josh at the televote but need to be really close at the jury.
NAPA gives me some Black Mamba vibes.

Fernando Daniel will have a better juri score than NAPA. It will probably be second in the jury and first/second in the televote. NAPA will be first/second in the televote but mid score with the juries and Josh will probably the 3rd most voted by the public and first in the jury. If that happens Fernando Daniel wil win. I hope I'm wrong though.

Hum... I do not see a world where Fernando Daniel with his unsalty music will score well along the juries, but let's see
