The big problem is that they had to adapt the concept because what they asked regarded the leds isn't what they got and we are talking about semi 1, the one with the fan favorites in a year where there are no judges that could have helped Mimicat reach the final thanks to her vocals.I think most of the Portuguese fans are exaggerating. I don't see this rehearsal as bad as people are seeing. Of course, it's not the most polished, but I see professionalism, charisma, and glam. Mimicat is giving everything. Also, sometimes less is more, and let me remind you that we just saw 30 seconds. The three-minute performance could have more light effects, some LEDs working around that could work and I trust the Portuguese team because I know they can solve the issues we have the 2021 and 2022 performances that worked really well. You can call me a believer, but I am only feeling good things and positive energies, even though I am not the biggest fan of our song.
The national final performance was kitsch and camp and it appealed to people who like a bit of kitsch and camp. It immediately screamed burlesque and you just needed to amp it up or polish it a bit.
Without those elements, it may lose its target audience and definitely won't appeal to people who don't like the genre anyway.
Because you never liked the song you can't really understand what was good about it. It was never the kitsch or the camp, that part of it made it sound old and stale, like an ancient Parque Mayer number. The national final staging was, according to my view, quite horrible and the song deserved so much better. As it is, it feels they up lifted it a bit. Sadly, just not enough. My problem with what I saw is that it potentially drives away people who'd go for this stuff.

So, I don't know where it really stands right now.
Never liked the song, but I understood its charm and thought it was a smart choice to send it. I'm on the fence now.
Fair enough It did really remind of some La Féria production that made me instantly dislike it.Because you never liked the song you can't really understand what was good about it. Same here... Mimicat deserves the qualification. She really does.Still keeping my fingers crossed that this will somehow work out.
This is also what I felt looking at the rehearsal clip. If you go niche then you have to double down on that niche and turn its qualities into an extravaganza. If you step back you are just going to be competing with the also rans sitting on the sidelines. It's strange given that this is Portugal who have nailed exactly this thing a couple of times recently with The Black Mamba and Salvador sticking out as two entries that absolutely nailed the staging by doing exactly what the chosen niche required of them. Ai Coracao indeed asks for horribly overblown theatrical burlesque stuff. My problem with what I saw is that it potentially drives away people who'd go for this stuff.

She will walk the runaway and there will be a red carpet on the led floor, which will lead her to the small stage and final part of the performance (high note). So, festivaldacancao on instagram released a small video of Mimicat performing in the eurovillage: https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cr6ha_pArtb/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
It looks like they performed the full choreo of and splicing it from the rehersal video, it seems starting the second chorus(the horny one) Mimicat will be walking the runway to end up in the small stage amongst the crowd, tried to find a video with the full performance to see the new choreo but no luck so far...
Me too! Is it too simple? Yes, but seems that the camera cuts are good and the public energy will help.I'm gonna admit I'm OBSESSED with Ai Coração since the rehearsals idk why it didn't occur to me this is a gem earlier??
It's not that their rehearsal footage was any good but more that I like actually listened to it properly
