A few days after the release of the songs and with more auditions:

I have totally 3 songs that I love, right now ... I can't define my TOP3, everything will depend on the presentation on stage: are they Cegueira,Rebellion and Medo de Sentir xheat :love: amazing songs

Passe-Partout, I'm not a fan of Barbara, but she interprets this song in a unique way, this composition is very good too,I don't want this to win, but I won't be upset if I see this on the ESC stage

Blasted (Rebellion) and Elisa (Medo de Sentir) came to win, they are betting a lot on this contest, both have already said that we will have amazing and brutal stage performances ... Blasted made a song entirely for the Eurovision, they "got away" a little from their usual (which is usually more alternative)Some of the band's fans didn't even like this song (like my cousin)

Blasted may have a lot of difficulties with the Semi Final jury (which is usually more conservative),but in the final they can easily surprise. Passe-Partout at this point he will be the most obvious winner, but it is something uncertain in the public (this can win in the public not a Eurovision fan, but I do not believe I can get the 12 of the televote) ,Medo de Sentir will do well in the jury, with a good presentation on stage you can easily win many votes on the televote. Cegueira may not work as well on stage

In short, it will be a very interesting fight between Passe-Partout Vs Rebellion Vs Medo de Sentir

so weird how people are sleeping on elisa rodrigues? she is not my favourite but não voltes mais is catchy and also pretty eurovision ready for portugal standards.

diz só is funny to me because this song seems tailor made to appeal to young urban leftist brazilians and, like... you know brazil is not in europe, right, kady? she even namedropped marielle franco. yes, yes, the theme of the song is not exclusive to us and sonically it's not exactly brazilian, but it feels like it fits so well in our scene. i am definitely not used to feeling targetted by an eurovision audiovisual universe song this specifically lmao.

Marielle Franco is a know figure here in Portugal and the song, from what I understand, is a somewhat a feminist anthem with a couple references to other female figures, being Marielle the one that stands out. The thing is that someone outside of Portugal would not get the references and people in Portugal would also not get them either, so I’m not sure for whom this song actually is for...
Music wise, like "Não Voltes", it is neither bad nor good, its average and a bit boring (for my taste), a good staging could make them interesting, but at this point I can’t see “Passe-Partout” not winning, which means that after Latvia 2018 brazilians will have someone to root for as Tiago Nacaro, the composer, is son of brazilian parents

This semi 1 is literally a nightmare imo.

All the underrated acts I like will be thrown under the bus because all favourites are stacked together.

RIP Agora
RIP Copo De Gin

Meanwhile, I like one song and a half in semi 2 :ROFLMAO:

So apparently according to the YouTube video, "Blasted" has changed their band name to "Blasted Mechanism". ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I believe that ''Passe-Partout'' is the most likely to win. I like it too but i love more ''Medo de Sentir''.

For what I could gather, back in 2018 when they launched "New Militia" they renamed the band to just Blasted, but they are known here in Portugal as Blasted Mechanism.
Maybe they realized that by entering Festival da Canção they could reach a new public and keeping their original name would make it easier to search and identify their previous songs, which are quite different from “Rebellion”.
To be honest, I feel that them, Elisa and Marta Carvalho(the composer of "Medo de Sentir") are the only artists that really want to win festival da canção and reach Rotterdan, winning the ticket to eurovision could be a great boost to their career, both nationally and internationally, I just hope that they can deliver a winning stage performance, I would rather see one of them win than "Passe-Partout"

Medo de Sentir - english translation
Afraid of Feeling
What's the way out?
I don't think I know how to love anymore,
And if Love invites me,
I can't accept now.
Seems like it's routine,
My solitude insists upon returning.

I wasn't like this,
But now I'm afraid of feeling.
Ask Time; he knows everything about me. (x2)

If you give me your hand,
I don't know how I'll react.
If you speak from the heart,
It feels like I'm listening again.
One more illusion
That doesn't take long to leave.

I wasn't like this,
But now I'm afraid of feeling.
Ask Time; he knows everything about me. (x2)
What he keeps away says everything that I feel for you.

I already tried to change,
But life took away
The best that I had in me.
And if I were to return some day,
Will you wait for me?

I wasn't like this,
But now I'm afraid of feeling.
Ask Time; he knows everything about me. (x2)
What he keeps away says everything that I feel for you.

Man, this bought me. Hope it will go to ESC because it would make my top 1 for sure.

Portugese people, do this has chance next to Passe Partout? I mean, it is good, but in this 3 horse race, I see this as both jury and tvt pleaser

Marta Carvalho, the composer of "Medo de Sentir", wrote on twitter that she is working to make her staging the best ever seen at Festival da Canção, so i would say that there is a chance that she can win the contest (more than Blasted Mechanism, btw), but she will really need a good staging.
The strongest and weakest point of the song are the lyrics, which are beautiful and very relatable but in portuguese, so unless the staging at Rotterdam is also really really good we could see a repeat of what happened with "O Jardim", last place at semifinal and seen as an underrated gem by some fans
