I hope you're right, I would be very happy
About the chorus: fair enough, but it's not much of an argument if you ask me. It's fine if there's some sort of effect if everyone is screaming Rebellion in unison, but that doesn't really make the song any better. The thing you pointed out about the chorus I don't agree, because the song was made to be sung at a big arena and the chorus is made so the public will sing with them, in the studio version the chorus doesn't work that well because there is no public with them.
Also I don't agree that it is a bad song because it would not work in another genre, most songs can't be covered in another genres, a jazzy cover of "Hatrid Mun Sigra" would not work nor "Love is Forever" as a metal song. "Rebellion" has a particular message and this genre is the best way to people to understand it.

About the comparison to HMS and L=F: Most pop songs can be transposed to different styles easily. People do it all the time. You name one for which it is indeed hard, namely HMS. Transposing to jazz is inoperable as an argument, because jazz has very different fundamentals in the way chords are used. Transposing to jazz takes a lot of time and changes the song considerably. But I agree that HMS wouldn't really work as a ballad for instance, you would need to change a lot to make the vocal melody of the verse fit well because it's borderline atonal. Chorus can be done though, has been done (check Youtube), will always be a great chorus. Love is Forever transposed into anything even slightly serious would just sound sarcastic (especially metal if you do the dropped bass), but the melody will still stick out as an irritatingly catchy tune.
Rebellion transposed into any sparse style would still have a decent verse, but a *really* ineffective chorus that has next to nothing to do with the verse that came before. So yeah, I disagree with your defense here.
Do appreciate the insights though. It is true that it's a bit unfair to use the same yardstick for rock as for other styles, but I have to make my point in some way.
Yeah I hope so too, the verse is melodically fine and there’s certainly potential if they work on some things. I have nothing against them.Great analysis and I must say that altough I still think that the chorus was built to sing it live, the first time I heard i also tought it was weak.
From some interviews that I read, they are aware of the feedback that "Rebellion" has been getting and since many people complained about the chorus I hope they can make it work in the live performance next saturday
And "Agora" too maybe?
the one that amuses me the most so far is Sambado's because....... what are they wearing what's the meaning
!!!!!!!I think it's meant to be a funeral...
I can't find those rehearsal clips..

out of curiosity: do people use gerberas (or whatever they're called in english) at funerals?

so is the song about the death of something or someone?
i know it was something that happened after the song was released, but it is somehow related to what happened to him this past week? that concert cancelationThe death of our country, apparently. It's a political song. I only heard a few seconds so far, can't really comment much on it yet.
