I have said it many time already, and I don't particularly want to be twisting the knife in anybody's wounds (still getting over my own grief for Hungary as well), but I still have to repeat myself: I told you guys so!

To think Telemóveis would appeal to the casual general public viewer, or that it could even win its semifinal... What a delusion!
I don't think it's the juries who killed its chances. I would actually be very surprised if it came any better than 13th with the televote. It is just really inaccessible.

Edit: I just checked some Czech general public discussion chats... The only person who got more hate yesterday was Bilal. Of course Czechs in general have little appreciation for Eurovision and just love to mock it, but I still stand behind those guesses of mine, just you wait on Saturday / Sunday.

I also think Conan actually scored well with the juries, many Eurovision artists seem to be appreciating his music, however most of my friends who only watch the live show found it awkward and inaccessible.

I am very sad for Portugal and for Conan. I would have loved to see this is in the final. And I mean exactly that; I would love to SEE/WATCH this in the final. Because the music and the song itself really does nothing to me...for me it doesnt work without the visuals.
When I first heard the song I really did not like it at all. And I guess that is the impression that both the televoters and the juries got stuck with... that the song and the act just is too inacceisible and too far-out-there.
It took some time for me to really appreciate this act - but again; my appreciation is of the whole act. I will never put Telemoveis in any of my playlists...

Injustice for the song, but the whole over-the-top eccentric behavior probably alienated the audience.

Still quite sad about missing out. I was never fully on the Telemoveis train before the semi; I liked it, but it's generally hovered around my lower top 10.

When he came on last night, though, everything finally clicked for me. Portugal was pretty much tied with Iceland (my #1 of the year) for my favourite of the night. Was happy to see my sister loving it as well, placing it as her #1 (previously the only song she'd heard from this year was Australia's).

At least now this has earned its spot alongside the likes of Igranka as one of the contest's Most Robbed Songs.

Apparently people all over Europe have reported that they were unable to vote for Portugal. I don’t know how valid these claims are, but so far there have been people in countries including France, Spain, Finland, and the Czech Republic who have all reported errors.

There is also a petition circulating, urging the EBU to count the televote again. It can be found here, if you’re interested.

I was hoping of course, but sadly, I somehow knew deep inside that there is no hope :(

I think that, unlike the rehearsals, he was really good now and even the shots have been improved. I loved how the audience cheered for him. But, sadly, it didn't work out :(

Huge injustice and sadly....it happens every year. But :pt: can be proud of this song. Sometimes it's better to experiment and fail (and be remembered) then play it safe and do well, but end up being forgotten soon afterwards. Conan won't be forgotten, that's for sure.

Wise words. Absolutely.

I was a big fan of "Telemoveis", and he continues to be a big Conan fan too, he has a lot of talent xheart

But I confess that I did not like the presentation, everything very forced, the green clothes turned out poorly on the TV and the plans were also not the best, really much better at NF in Portugal

I'm sad because it was a song that had a lot of potential, but the presentation just did not work out, practically everyone I spoke with said that the NF version was much better

While I wasn't even a big fan of the song I agree those green outfits were garbage compared to what they wore in the NF. Like wth were they thinking with that! Surely part of what killed them.

That song is ridiculously magnificent, but I reckon it's a challenging one to fully enjoy. Still, I found the performance high-impact personally. And I guess I'm the only one who liked the green outfits :D Conan better not get the Barbara Dex Award (we have Cyprus, Belgium or Montenegro for that).

Regardless of why and how Portugal failed to qualify, it's an Igranka situation all over again for me: the unfortunate fate of a song that is in a league of its own, unlike anything else in the history of the contest, which knocks out 99% of the songs from the edition it competed in.

I'm not sure how I'd react if Conan were the one to miss out by one point. Probably not well.

Sorry for repeating myself, but muito obrigado Portugal for sending such a work of art. "Telemóveis" is an exquisite statement that will be remembered. Am in love with it. xheart

8 points from the "professional juries" ? Is that serious? If there was another reason needed to believe these people are nothing but walking jokes, there you have it!

This is bonkers. I should have kept in mind they didn't deem "O Jardim" worthy of support last year either, while that's exactly the type of entry they should particularly pay attention to imo.

Televoters are definitely more open-minded.
