Once he finished the song I was like 100% sure he's going straight to the final. Biggest shock, disappointment and what not. And I can't understand AT ALL how did it happen.

While it's true he was never able to quite recapture the magic of that national final performance, he was still easily in the top 10 tonight.
I guess Europe prefers plastic pop sung badly (Estonia) and it's hard to compete with that.

I knew this was dead as soon as I saw it in full. My mom HATED it and so did the Belgian commentator. As I feared, the message flew over people's heads and the artistry was too eccentric and weird to really appeal.

I enjoyed it though :-) I am too relieved Slovenia made it through to really feel sad about any of the remaining acts, but I liked "Telemóveis" for what it was and I hope its NQ doesn't discourage Portugal from sending experimental in the future!

But then, I remind myself that if there wasn't for the ESC I would probably never ever had the chance to get captivated and fall in love with Conan's incredible Artistry. So, I'll be fine, I guess (lots of tequila and Adoro Bolos on repeat will make it better as well). Again. Damn...

Depends what you set as a goal. Being dead last in 2018 and now not qualifying is not my definition of success.
