Re: PORTUGAL 2017

Wow jury, you killed the two most beautiful songs in the semi "Andamos no céu" and "Se o tempo não falasse" (would have flopped anyway though), but also made an attempt to kill the worst song. Now you better do that again in the final. It's Salvador or bust now. Portugal could be competing with my favourite song at the contest possibly since "Suus". Send "Don't Walk Away" though and welcome to the bottom of my list. I kept muting it during the recaps. Horrendous song. Just because something feels more "modern" than the other songs doesn't mean you should automatically pick it. The song is terrible and a likely flop at ESC i'd say. Salvador could get you top 5. I haven't been this touched by a song from Eurovision in many years. His song stirs my soul and practically reduces me to tears each time I listen to it. "Amar pelos dois" for the win!xheart

For me it's clear: Salvador for Kyiv. I think that is the only hope for a portugues qualification. And that will probably be thanks to the juries.
How people can support this Pedro is a complete mistery to me. I would happily bet money on he staying in the semi. Portugal is not Belgium (that seems to be able to turn any horrible entry into something enjoyable).

My bold prediction is Pedro to win the televoting over Salvador and the jury's gonna take Salvador to Kyiv!

Re: PORTUGAL 2017

Actually I just changed my mind about how thing are going to go in the final...

To me, I want Pedro or Salvador. And then Jorge. Celina is ok but enough with the same folk.

In the final the top 3 televote will be Pedro, Fernando and Viva La Diva.

The jury will rate Salvador, Viva la Diva and Celina in the top.

Pedro and Fernando will be low on the jury so they will be out. Celina will not be that high with the televote so she is out too.

Salvador and Viva La Diva are going to battle for the ticket. And I hope Salvador takes it.

But I want Pedro in Kiev so much... Or Salvador. With the right staging he could make it far.

Re: PORTUGAL 2017

It's clear to me: "Primavera" or "Poema a dois" to Kiev. One is unique, the other one is so touching and impressively sung.

"Amar pelos dois" is not bad either, but I'm not too keen on such extremely calm ballads and I can't stand his interpretation. He looks like he escaped from a mental hospital to perform his song :?

Anything else would be horror.

I think that Salvador will do very well on the televoting. He had the only entry hyped by the people during this last week. Almost 300000 views on youtube and the only entry talked about in social media... I predict him to be top 2 in the televote alongside Pedro.

Re: PORTUGAL 2017

1. Salvador Sobral – it seems nothing can remove him from my number 1, and we had great entries in 2nd semi, but still nothing..
2. Celina da Piedade – this is an ETHNO masterpiece..if goes to ESC maybe will be the ebst ethnic entry EVER!
3. Lena D’Agua– what an entry, what a little song, what a type of singing, I have never seen smth like this in ESC
4. Viva La Diva – “Nova glória” what a great and classy guilty pleasure that is.. xlove

Just don't screw it dear Portugal! :)

Any news about his health condition?

Well, like it or not, Pedro and Salvador are definitely going to be the people's favorites. It is all in the regional jury's hands now. I don't mind having any of them representing us in Kyiv: Salvador has a sweet masterpiece; Pedro has what we've never tried before in Eurovision: a modern English pop song.

The voting lines will be open starting tomorrow.

Re: PORTUGAL 2017

Oh I just can't stop watching and listening to "Primavera"...

This gives me LIFE, i have a feeling I'm in some orchard, somewhere in inner Portugal, and celebrating a spring which is behind the doors with these beautiful and nice people..

.....while rose petals are flying around us down the gentle spring breeze which comes from Serra da Estrela... xlove xheart

Thank you Portugal for this experience.. xbow xcry1

Re: PORTUGAL 2017

It's very simple to me: Salvador or nothing. End of a long story made short ;)

Re: PORTUGAL 2017

There is just one worthy winner here: Salvador Sobral.

I don't think Pedro is the right choice for Portugal. Maybe for other countries he could be a treat but you clearly have something better. And "Primavera" is beautiful and so portuguese but you brought something similar in the past, I would like to see the uniqueness of "Amar pelos dois".

Re: PORTUGAL 2017

I see Salvador is pretty hyped here and I understand why. It is not my cup of tea, but I must admit there is something special and outstanding in this song. And Portugal should select it. I think it would be final then. Other songs, not so sure. They would need to improve at esc stage to get to final.

Btw, so much want to say: who else thinks Portuguese juries collapsed during performance of Don't walk away?? xrofl3 xrofl3 xrofl3

Re: PORTUGAL 2017

um why was this semi GOOD when the first one was absolute trash lmao. i have a lot of questions about the executive decisions at rtp.

now that this semi exists i am OVER salvador sobral. pragmatically i still believe portugal should pick him as he is by far their biggest scoring potential, but as far as my pleasure is concerned they should send primavera or gente bestial without a care in the world about how they surely will get less than 10 points overall in eurovision.

if viva la diva wins i'm setting portugal on fire. it's boring AND will get peanuts for points in eurovision. get rid of them.
