I think Portugal needs to try english... or at least bilingual. That's if they want to actually do well at eurovision. they may not care, and just be there for the entertainment show

I agree. Although we did try that, with a good song too, and we flopped badly in 2003.

A questão foi colocada já por várias vezes pelos fãs do Festival da Canção e a resposta especulada por diversos sites: irá Portugal participar na edição de 2016 da Eurovisão, na Suécia?

A RTP ainda não tomou qualquer decisão sobre a participação no ESC 2016, nem tampouco sobre o método de selecção do Festival da Canção.

I didnt say that they were withdrawing. But its definitely setting up to some late decision as per usual.

I don't see the point in making a statement saying "we haven't decided yet". What's even worse is that they pretty much saying they didn't even think about Eurovision yet. Kind of why Portugal's results are pretty bad They'll probably announce our particiaption in December and then they'll come up with a NF by inviting composers in january or february as usual.

It's been on the papers in UK too. In Portugal almost nobody has heard of this (Probably because her fame as a singer here is almost zero )
She is terrible live I'm afraid.

No, it never happened. However, it would be impossible according to the rules of Festival da Canção, since the composers and the lyricists must have Portuguese nationality. In 2015 it was not made any mention to the nationality of the singers, but in previous years I remember it was clearly written that they had to have Portuguese nationality. So, unless we find a Brazilian-Portuguese singer (a person with dual nationality) we won't see any Brazilians representing Portugal...

There is no need to call someone from Brazil though. We have more than enough artists in Portugal good enough to do the job. If only RTP would actually call them though!
