RTP said they will announce later what method they will use to choose our entry. This makes me hopeful it's not FdC, as if they wanted to keep on using it I think they would've announced it already.

RTP's director said that it's almost compulsory to hold Festival da Canção (No it's freaking not!) However he said that the format of FdC will change.

I'm really glad to hear that ESC is RTP priority. Reading this it makes me believe maybe we'll have a different approach in 2015, but i guess i should calm down my excitement...

Let's hope they change Flopstival de Canção to an actual music festival. Revitalize the contest, change the branding, make it more inviting for more established composers and artists. Hé, I'm starting to day dream. One day, I hope my dearest Portugal sends good songs again.

I still don't get why it is necessary to hold FdC. Is that just the network's policy because they need a show to fill time slots? Is it related to funding like they will not get x amount of funding if they don't hold FdC?

In any case, I think the money they would spend holding FdC could just be used to produce a nice solid entry.

To be honest with you, when I watched the portuguese national final it seemed like we were in the 80's, so OLD fashioned, it needs a complete revamp!!
And hopefully some songs that show portuguese culture but also something fun, cool and modern
