Maybe indeed "Mea Culpa" wasn't a song worthy the main award in contest, but I think that with good performance it could end in Top 5/10.

After 50 years of trying Portugal have yet to ever be in the top 5. 1996 was the closest they came when they came 6th. I hope the Portuguese curse can be lifted for 2015! Mea Culpa had to be one of the biggest injustices of the 2014 contest. Portugal really need to sack off the internet vote.

What's keeping us from breaking that curse is RTP itself, so hopefully this year they'll step up their game!

I think Mea Culpa was horrible, much worse than Canta Por Mim which would have done rather good in 2010. Suzy was the best choice in what I think was the most horrible NF in Portugal ever (and it is quite often rather bland I think...)
Portugal must have a more modern approach to ESC if they should have a shot in Eurovision, more bold entries to choose from so that the public can choose something they really want to send. I would love to see an awesome portuguese entry that ends top 5 in ESC, but it feels that Portugal, that was coming closer of doing that in late 2000s, are losing ground again, which is sad. Hope it turns around in 2015!

In 2014 composeres were invited by RTP indeed. Hopefully that will change from 2015 on!
