Re: PORTUGAL 2014

Babic and Coelho are back in action, aren't they? They made those two great entries in 2008 and 2012, so I'm hoping what they got is equally as good.

And as for Rui Andrade, I'm not a fan of him. Never liked his songs.

2008 was GREAT and I have seen it live in Arena, but I think Vania Fernandes is the one who made that song shine, and these AWESOME backing vocalists (one of the best in ESC ever)....

FdC lasts extremely long! :?

I usually fall asleep while all these regions of Portugal read their votes! xsleep xsleep xsleep

That won't happen this year as there is no jury voting, just televoting.

Let's not forget about Sobrevivo which was a train-wreck of a song  I hope they make something nice and different this year. 2008 and 2012 pretty much sounded the same, I agree that those were great entries, though! :)

Re: PORTUGAL 2014

2012 was such a in your face lame attempt at 2008 it was pathetic xdoh It deserved to flop and Filipa deserved better xdoh

Frankly listening to the audio of both songs they barely sound the same to me at all but once you see the performance it becomes totally obvious what they were trying to do  2008 had so much epic emotion and power you didn't need a visual to feel it but 2012 was just flat in every way and inspired nothing xshrug

Re: PORTUGAL 2014

Let's make something clear, ok? Who doesn't want to hear Rui? Please don't tell me it's the Portuguese people as I will not believe it. You cannot tell me that those who sent Homens da Luta to Eurovision have a problem with Rui Andrade's vocals.

so what's the problem with Rui's vocals? Portugal sent Homens da Luta to Eurovision and nobody died. At least Rui is handsome and he might be the Ott Lepland of 2014.

I certainly didn't send Homens da Luta to eurovision. There's more than one shade of bad, as of course you know. I honestly believe there's a problem with Rui's vocals, but if you haven't detected it by now, my telling you won't help ;)

EXACTLY!!! I hope that Coelho and Babic take a different route this year. I dunno if that formula is still worth repeating over and over again...

2012 may have been an attempt at a song like 2008 that unfortunately failed. Still, it was the best song in that horrible NF and it deserved the ticket to Baku. O amor e maior que a vida by Joana Leite might have been a better song, her live performance was pretty bad and destroyed the song's chances.

I guess its a case of best of a bad bunch xshrug

The composers who made "O amor e maior que a vida" are competing again this year too so maybe this time around they will pick a singer who doesn't destroy their song

They said that they're priority now, after having compsoed the song, is to search for a good vocalist, so I think they learned their lesson :D

Re: PORTUGAL 2014

I hope they were nice when they said it, poor Joana

Why? So that the poor thing's feelings were not hurt? What about our feelings? IOTAP
She simply ruined the possiblibility of our having a perfectly good song for Eurovision xgaah Not everybody has to be a singer. I'm not a singer, nor is anyone I know and we all lead pleasant lives xwhistle
She's probably great at somethng else, say, she may even become a perfect housewife!

Oh, I do hope they were really nasty when they said it

Re: PORTUGAL 2014

A magazine said today that Aurea, Amor Eletro, Lúcia Moniz (ESC 1996) and No Stress are among the 10 artists that will be present at the FdC this year! If so, we might be in for the best edition ever! It would mean we would finally have revelant names participating as artists again!

They're just confusing the composers with the people they usually work with xshrug
