Unfortunately a poor entry from my country. After being in the finals 3 years in a row, with rather good songs, Portugal will certainly stay in the semi. Maybe next year...

Estamos tesos, desempregados, com graves dificuldades e é isto que te envergonha ?

Were in deep trouble, so we send a protest song against the crisis in Portugal, what's wrong with that ?

This is not Eurovision Complaining Contest, this is Eurovision Song Contest. We should not mix politics with music.

I think it's a crap, dakwolf, that's all. I would think the same if Ines had been picked to represent us. I'm certainly not ashamed of being Portuguese, this is a song contest, not a country's dignity test as some seem to think it is. This song wasn't by any means my choice, and I'm not going to act as if it was. Let them play and have fun with the taxes we pay to public broadcaster every year. Let them "protest" against Portugal's economical conditions, while they have a week settled in a five star hotel, enjoying the best life can afford. Protest against world crisis... yeah, right!

maybe, dont know, maybe for portuguese people this song (due to lyrics) might hv some meaning and some point to make......but for the vast majority of rest europeans that cant understand what might be behind it,....well ,sounds a pretty bad entry

I was about to say: "if Portugal makes it to the final I'll eat my hat".... but since I know Portugal somehow will get there, I won't say it. ;)

I think singing in portuguese is an advantage for this song..when not seeing them on stage, then maybe english is better...

I really like the song, but I just can't stand the preformers..it just looks like a bad joke. :(

i like this song (but then again i am a sucker for ethnic tunes). not as good as 2008 or 2009, but its a nice wee song. hope it gets to the final, but it probably wont :(

This song doesn't sound so bad actually. Can someone post a good translation?

I found this one pretty good, I don't know if they're repeated or they just translated each stanza/verse once:

Sometimes you find yourself feeling blue
Sometimes you find yourself feeling wary
Sometimes you find yourself feeling alarmed
Sometimes you find yourself feeling despair

By day or by night
The struggle is joy
And the people moves forward shouting out on the street!

Of little use is the belt always tight
Of little use is nagging around
Of little use is always looking sullen
Of little use is anger for helping you.

By day or by night
Struggle is joy
And the people moves forward shouting out on the street !

Bring on the bread, bring on the cheese, bring on the wine
Come the old, come the young and the children

Come celebrate this situation
And let us sing against reaction!

Bring on the bread, bring on the cheese, bring on the wine
Come the old, come the young and the children

There are plenty of people warning: watch out
There are plenty of people wanting to shut you up
There are plenty of people leaving you resentful
There are plenty of people selling you air itself

By day or by night
Struggle is joy
And the people moves forward shouting out on the street !

Bring on the bread, bring on the cheese, bring on the wine
Come the old, come the young and the children
Come celebrate this situation
And let us sing against reaction!

Bring on the bread, bring on the cheese, bring on the wine
Come the old, come the young and the children"
