This^Polish fans pls don’t come for me but
I think honestly all NF’s are more or less rigged in one way or another, even in so-called progressive Western European countries.
This is not the first and it won’t be the last NF to be rigged.
I know it’s unfortunate, but hateful comments should stop.
Chanel won Benidorm with only 4% televote support, where are all the fans who were sending her death threats for winning against Tanxugueiras?
The bad quality can be more forgiving of notes he didn't really hit that well. The direct mic footage is less forgiving.
is it only me or he sounds miles better in this recording than it was like in tv broadcast?
Sure, but with Mahmood, I don't think there was any conscious rigging, I find it's completely believable the juries indeed thought he was the best without any other influence (especially with him later coming only 27 points short of winning ESC).This^
Even Mahmood won Sanremo 2019 being the 7th in the televote in the final, and in the final 3 he got 20% finishing behind both Ultimo and Il Volo... there were angry fans who were sending insults to Mahmood, and angry politicians that were aiming for a change in the rules.
Rigged finals have always existed and will exist forever, this time it was Poland's probably.
Why are people so butthurt?
People are acting as if Blankas song didn't have loads of streams already - way waaaayy more than anyone elses and was already a hit song. Heck she even performed it abroad.
Blanka was bad, but so was Jann. He was horrific live, screeching his way through the song and gasping for air every 2 seconds - it was messy as hell. I don't deny something sus may have happened but i don't think Blanka winning is some wild turn of events.
That like to dislike ratio.
This is kinda fair. I mean, televote and jury need the same scale: if jury has the 12-10-8 points meanwhile the televote has percentage, the jury is useless. And for juries, the system 12-10-8 is the fairest. It depends on how they vote: if jurors have to do a ranking on their own or giving numeric votes, their vote would be useless; if they have to do a choice with tokens or something, they could easily rig.Giving artists 8 - 10 or 12 points (televote) when the difference in votes could be in the hundred of thousands between the 10 point and the 12 point... is just WRONG. Sweden and many others do this also. How can this be fair? I'm glad we don't have this system in Norway.
Yes, thank you. As a gay guy I prefer songs with ethno elements much more plus I also enjoy other genres like Australia this year. But even if, so what? What's this obsession with people overanalyzing gays. So what if they like a good yas queen bop. Like you said it's just homophobic. Yes, the fraction exists but so do other groups. It's just preference. Can I just casually chime in and say:
If any annoying straggot complains again that the eurovision bubble only likes "yas slay female pop songs", when people dislike a song they like, I will show them this poll.
So tired of this stupid (lowkey homophobic) conspiracy/complaint that we only want 40 pop divas performing at Eurovision.
Thanks Blanka for helping putting this bullshit to rest. Now go into your corner and give us nothing.
YassSlayKween!
Not.
I chose not to write comments anymore when I give a bad note, but this warrants an exception.
If you want to sell me a slutbop, I am living for it, but ffs, do it properly. Give me Chanel, give me Eleni, give me Elena, give me Efendi, bref, give me a hot adult lady who might not have the most pristine vocals but can at least hold a note while putting some actual show on.
Everything about this - song, staging, styling - screems JESC done wrong. Which is probably the last thing you want to achieve when sex appeal is your main selling point.
I haven't heard any other songs from the selection, but saying a professional jury thinks this is the best Poland had to offer tells me all I really need to know.
I feel sorry for all Polish fans because of the rigging.
But the jurors are just a few people. Contrasting that to the public vote. I see what you mean but following your logic I guess I would just prefer a 25% jury 75% people split. I actually more often agree with juries. But I do think they sit on too much power. This is kinda fair. I mean, televote and jury need the same scale: if jury has the 12-10-8 points meanwhile the televote has percentage, the jury is useless. And for juries, the system 12-10-8 is the fairest. It depends on how they vote: if jurors have to do a ranking on their own or giving numeric votes, their vote would be useless; if they have to do a choice with tokens or something, they could easily rig.
I couldn‘t have said it better! You speak my mind!I think this is definitely my guilty pleasure of the year, but it's a strange sensation.
No matter if this will do good or will flop, I will laugh really hard in both the cases
