Lights, beaming down the rainy street
All the faces that I meet tell me I'm wrong
Ride, staring at the neon signs
Making up a storyline, gotta hold on
Not lost, even in the death of night
I can make it out alright
Just let me go
Yeah, I, I will make it through somehow
Let me figure out what is in and out

So baby, hold on for the ride of your life
High above ground, living it now
I'm gonna take you to the end of the line
Taking that fight, make it alright
It doesn't matter if I stumble and fall
I'll make it through, I'll never touch the ground
So baby, hold on for the ride of your life
Hold on real tight, make it alright

Hard, I won't give my heart and soul
I am going for the glow, no looking back
I'm gonna rise high up in the atmosphere
I ain't got no time to fear
Follow my tracks

Not lost, following the neon lights
Shooting through the summer skies
Just let me go
Yeah I, I will make it through somehow
Let me figure out what is in and out

So baby, hold on for the ride of your life
High above ground, living it now
I'm gonna take you to the end of the line
Taking that fight, make it alright
It doesn't matter if I stumble and fall
I'll make it through, I'll never touch the ground
So baby, hold on for the ride of your life
Hold on real tight, make it alright

I'm gonna take all the world tonight (Oh-woah-oh-oh)
Not gonna ask, gonna take what's mine (Oh-woah-oh-oh)
So hold on tight, baby, let's get high (Oh-woah-oh-oh)
High above the ground
Ride, staring at the neon signs
Let me figure out what is in and out

So baby, hold on for the ride of your life
High above ground, living it now
I'm gonna take you to the end of the line
Taking that fight, make it alright
It doesn't matter if I stumble and fall
I'll make it through, I'll never touch the ground
So baby, hold on for the ride of your life
Hold on real tight, make it alright

Margaret was a lost opportunity for Poland, sure she was sold as a low budget white Rihanna without a sound of her own and she isn't particularly a good live singer, but "Cool Me Down" still felt like surprisingly "contemporary" for Eurovision standards and had cross-over appeal while Szpak's song... well... if that wasn't a cliché of a clichéd Eurovision ballad then I dunno
I never experienced such a pain and sorrow in the voice before..and still a hope and struggle in it..it was a wonderful mix of that, which made me cry! xcry ADORE that entry! xlove xheart

If Eric Saade who's "vocal abilities" are as bad as or even worse than Maraget's ones was able to finish #3 in Eurovision, I'm pretty sure that "Cool Me Down" could have reached a better position than Michal Spzak back in 2016. That song had winner written all over it.

Yeah, I see it having winner potential, although juries would downgrade it a bit due to vocals and being Poland (they dislike Poland) so not sure she'd win but a top. 3 in the overall results...

I've had the "unluck" to see both of them live, they both suck in live vocals... without being biased or anything I must say that Eric is still the stronger performer because at least he is good at that... Margaret is very boring as a performer let's be honest here.

He has good vocals (although not my style but I agree they are technically good), everything else with that entry was wrong though...

Yeah I was also confused  , it also doesn't help that both acts did Eurodance and similar looking singers

True, Swedish Verona's real name is Veronica Andersson, literary a 1 hit wonder (she only released 2 singles as far as I can see and her MF attempt never became a hit although her first single "Ti Sento" was somewhat a radio hit here at least). Not sure what she's doing now, probably working in groceries

This is so rude towards my Verona! I had to put angry smiley!

I hope she will prove you wrong and TVP will chose her for Rotterdam.. :p

I'm not an insider obviously, but I'm afraid Sanah is just wishful thinking tbh... I'd be surprised if TVP would convinced the hottest new local star to compete in Eurovision especially considering Eurovision has a bad reputation among popular acts in Poland and on top of that many don't want to be associated with TVP for political reasons... I am not sure Sanah would risk this when her career just stated and she already became a big name in just a year but who knows xshrug

Well, that's true. Female pronouns used by journialist may suggest that our representative will be a girl, but we don't know what he excatly said and maybe it was just a mistake. But if he knows who TVP will send, why would he use female form?

Fun fact: Edyta Górniak gave an weird interview for "Jastrząb Post" - she said that she heard our song and the song is not in her style, but people in Europe may like it, because it's "commercial". Then she said that she doesn't mind if Rafał Brzozowski will represent Poland, because he is such a nice person.

So what kind of song did she hear if she knows the song but she dosn't know who sings it? A demo posted on this topic?

Dziennik-eurowizyjny reported that TVP changed director of our peformance. It will be the same guy who was director of 2014 (My Słowianie!) and 2015 Polish entry. He wanted to send "Cool Me Down" in 2016, but new leadership of TVP decided to do natonal finals and he was not an director anymore. Now he's back.

Speaking of Sanah - as we know she is going to announce "something huge" this Friday. Is a new album "something huge"? I am not sure, new albums of recording artists are pretty regular :p so I hope that she bumped Rafał from a job, haha. And there is an unreleased English version of "Ale jazz!" single, so... ;)

Edyta Górniak who is so basic commenting on something being too "commercial" ?... I just can't xrofl

Interesting insight on what's going on though, I would like to say this guy seems more promising as a director but then again the 2015 entry was bad so his track-record isn't particularly good (and too short to really draw any conclusions from), sure 2014 was the best Polish entry like... ever... but that whole pick seems more like a one-off thing but who knows, maybe they managed to convince another popular act this year again? xshrug

I agree, Margaret is less fun at stage. But.. to be fair, Eric had more opportunities to cover the lack of his vocal abilities thanks to a bigger budget, production etc. - I don't think Margaret is as charming and enteraining as Eric Saade BUT "Cool Me Down" was way more contemporary and effective as "Popular" and thus, I think a Top 3 placing would be very likely.

Concerning sanah:

Unfortunately, she's going to perform in Łódź on 22nd May (theoretically).

Honestly, I don't think such concerts will occur in 2 months but still, it's strange this concert hasn't been officially rescheduled yet.

I agree, as a song "Cool Me Down" (back in a Eurovision 2016 context) was indeed feeling much more contemporary than "Popular" did 2011, but yeah at least he makes up for so-so vocals with a good stage presence and performance skills which are his strong assets, unfortunately for Margaret she also lacks those I'm afraid xshrug

no victory vibes but there was still room and time for improvement and honestly, that performance wasn't as bad as some Eurovision fans attempt to portray it. Vocally, it was pretty decent - she had to work on the staging and choreography more, though.
