She could move more too. In the song she's singing how she's dancing on flames while at her NF performance she was just standing and singing out of tune. The song itself is great but Margaret's performance was everything but good.

The song is really demanding, she loses breath when she dances too much. It could be easily fixed if there were as good backing vocals as for example Hadise had. Hadise was 4th with a good song and bad voice, I think that the song is the most important thing and Margaret had the best song so far in our selection.

If you can't do things, you don't try to do those things in front of 3mln audience. In 'got talent' shows if someone acts like shit no one say "oh maybe they had a bad day". They act like shit and no one overthink this.
You can't both sing and dance cause of I don't care what reasons...then don't do it and stop pretenting that you are good at it. It's that simple.

I see your point. Then we have to send boring cliche ballads a la Kopania every year since I can't find any single act here who could have got a hit song, sing great and dance well at the same time.

Yup. I prefer to send cliche ballad over shit that's gonna hurt my ears. She's good only in MP3s so no point to make her sing anything live. Especially in front of 100mln audience.

Meanwhile (since rolling the topic over and over can get boring af)
THAT was our missed chance. No reason to cry or overstress cause of random sabotaging kids and here is the result. She SLAYED. She sounded more emotional than in our nf and spread the tension more wisely.

Dunno what has happened at start tho..

Missed chance and of course missed lyrics. What if that would happen on ESC stage? "Especially in front of 100mln audience.".

I think there's no point to continue this kind of discussion, because Edyta Górniak sounded even worse than Margaret in our NF, especially the first part of the song was awful. Of course I am not saying that she has an awful voice, because her voice is really strong and "Grateful" was my second choice, but her performance was bad. In my opinion this is kinda ridiculous to bash Margaret whereas Monika Kuszyńska and Cleo were far away from being perfect on the stage as well. But now, when we need to justify our choice, people saying that song is not important, only voice n voice n voice. This is not a radio contest, nor Eurovision Voice Contest. Song is the core of the performance. "Cool Me Down" was our biggest chance in the history, but as long as "Color of your life" is 1st on the Internet/Youtube charts etc I decided not to lose all my hopes :D

Now, when Margaret is being promoted in whole Europe, she debuted on Official Swedish Singles Charts this week, on the World's Spotify Charts, on iTunes in countries like Sweden, Norway, Denmark, India, Peru or Argentina I can keep my fingers crossed for her and watch Eurovision without sadness that once again there will not have a hit-song, but on some levels this is good festival song (I mean - live version of "Color of your life"), so I hope that we keep our new tradition of being in the Grand Final on the table.

If Margaret can't sing and dance in the same time, she could use dancers who were singing and dancing. Her dancers didn't have an impressive choreography either.

I don't understand why people are still that sad about Margaret, I mean she got what she wanted eventually: a hit and exposure at international level. Had she nailed her performance, I would have called it a wasted opportunity myself too, but that wasn't the case.

Eurovision may not be a voice contest, but it is live nonetheless, so one should be able to at least bring one's song to life, which she failed at doing so in the NF because she's a studio artist.

She didn't seem to be fully aware of her poor live skills (voice and stage presence), because she could have included backing singers and a little dance routine to make it sound and look better for the NF already. Or maybe she thought the song would do all the work... but how many songs' potentials have been ruined by off vocals and meh stagings in the past? It hasn't been the first and won't be the last.

Those princesses seem to be amazed. Especially the mid one.

I am normally a fan of simplicity when it comes to songs like this, but this staging looks perhaps too simple. :? Michal´s vocals are perfect as always, but he seems to be somewhat swallowed by all the darkness around him. It needs more light. But maybe it´s just because of the bad angle. The other thing I am not sure about are those musicians. I was really hoping that he wil get rid of them.

The song and Michał's voice sounds gorgeous from the rehearsal, but the staging does look too dark, needs more brighter, lighter colours.

Well you look closer to those violin girls. One of them is pretending to play even though she has no instrument in her hands at all :D

The Meet & greet video was a torture to watch. I don´t get why the Polish delegation - knowing the obvious limitations of Michal´s English - couldn´t hire a translator. Instead, they were just sitting there and smiling, satisfied with themselves while witnessing how is their representative roasted alive by the unfriendly Swedish woman (such a lack of empathy and improvising skills is rarely seen among professional speakers/interviewers) in desperate attempt to answer questions he barely understands. Horrible.

I didn't watch the whole interview..

I see the same guy who translated for D&C and he didn't really translate everything what D&C say.. We need someone to talk English. What a shame. Only Monika didn't have problem with talking.

Michał said he's a little bit ill. Again. This is annoying for me, 24/7 ill, yeah, yeah, sure...

I'd say it's not simple enough. It's the kind of entry that relies on a big voice and as such it should only focus on the vocalist. Plain dark backdrop, nothing and nobody else on stage, only one stream of light centered on Michał would work best.

I wouldn´t completely disagree with that - as I said, the funny background pantomime with musical instruments not used in the song is completely unnecessary and personally, I wouldn´t have anything against just Michal standing alone on the stage in a cone of light. However, the competition is hard and the presence of all that LED screens raises expectations of being used in some more sophisticated way than to show starry sky and phrases from the lyrics. I wouldn´t be so sure about general public´s appreciation of this or even simpler, intimate, cabaret-like staging as you suggest. Let´s hope I am wrong. xcrossed
