Actually I think Poland is one of the countries that almost always gets the result that it deserves, without being overrated/underrated because of the diaspora (it's definitely not like Romania, for example). I mean, before their withdrawal, they were eliminated in the semifinal a lot of times, once coming last even. In 2014 and 2015 they deservedly qualified, as their entries had a bigger appeal. While this year, their awful song deserves to crash and burn.

Aren´t we all? At least the whole central Europe - with exception of Germany - definitely is. But I strongly believe that Michal´s emotive performance will hypnotize everyone. xcrossed

I agree that this isn't the greatest draw for Poland, but there's a silver lining here: Michal's performing right before Switzerland, so there's no chance of having some amazing act come after him and take all the attention I think he's about a 50/50 for qualification. We already know he's great live, so at this point it depends partly on staging and partly on how well Israel sells their similar entry (both are cheesy power ballads performed by a kinda camp male singer early in the first half - I doubt they'll both go through).

I don't think their qualification would be a particular surprise - if you base it off the current odds, the market's general opinion is that they've got around a 60% chance to qualify.
