I don't think it was politically motivated. I thought the performance was very unnecessarily sexual too, and the song wasn't much to write home about. Horny men voting en masse for the song is one of the reasons it scored so highly on televotes. Jurors clearly thought the content of the performance did not enhance the quality of the song - which was awful tbh. I think it's highly unlikely that so many juries had a pact to destroy the chances of the song, it's just the way it is. I didn't see Poland as a threat, anyways ;)

and the song wasn't much to write home about.

The song, although of an unusual genre for Eurovision, dripped quality and craftsmanship in its composition. Add to that the marvellous voice of Cleo. There is no way a quality jury would put that last, except if their judgment is biased by prudery. And the Wright's interview proves just that.

Thank God it wasn't the entry. It's so pathetic, it has no melody. Now I know what juries are talking about. That would be 15th in the semi... :/

Donatan and Cleo, please stop humiliating us.

Poland's performance, compared to the over-the-top performances by Rihanna, Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, and Miley Cyrus, was harmless and entertaining. Compared to most of the outdated rubbish that has plagued the contest in the past, Poland broke the Eurovision cliche by sending something original, modern and fresh.

Horny men voting en masse for the song is one of the reasons it scored so highly on televotes.

You can't be that naive, right? It's like saying that every member from the LGBT community voted for Conchita Wurst. Having followed the live Facebook and Twitter feed during the European and Australian broadcast, Poland was actually a favourite among viewers - both male and female. During the unofficial voting, Australia ranked Poland 5th with over 25,000 votes during the broadcast of the Second Semi-Final and 6th with over 24,000 votes during the broadcast of the Grand Final. There were several Australian networks that actually acknowledged Poland’s performance during their Eurovision 2014 segment.

Jurors clearly thought the content of the performance did not enhance the quality of the song - which was awful tbh.

What does the jury know about quality? I mean they voted for a Kim Kardashian lookalike that sung an unoriginal James Bond theme for God's sake! Taking a look at the jury results, it turns out that "Cheesecake", "No Prejudice", "To The Sky", "Attention", "Shine", "Coming Home" and other cringe-worthy songs are considered to be "quality", but "My Slowianie" isn't. PFT!

Especially the highlighted ones were immensely "original". True pieces of art!

Oh plz, you think Poland ended up at top. 5 because of horny men? Get a grip, UK's and Ireland's juries' last positions were BLATANTLY attempts at manipulate the results.

Whether one like the song or not is obviously subjective, but it was so obvious that even "haters" of the song (which btw is brilliant... so lots of people would disagree with your statement) should be confident enough to admit what the juries did was not a musical judgement in some of these cases.

Sure, we know by now that juries are europhobic party killers, but don't for a second think that those last positions had to do with the juries taste in music.

This! The song is a brilliant mix of modern R&B-Pop and ethno, and Cleo did great live, this may not be for all people's taste, but if people assume people just voted for this based on the performance, they should re-think... there's alot of people (me included) that genuinely like the song, and the juries voting was a blatant manipulation of votes.

Also, it's more telling about the juries' taste when dated Disney ballads get high points but not something fresh, modern and local.

That's just a hiphop remake of the original song, of course it wouldn't be your entry, it's just a fun treat for the fans.

This is the only song where I am actually glad that the juries pulled their fingers in and and that they "massacred" it.

Possibly the only Polish entry ever that I didn't like. Even this result is way too high for me. I enjoyed the performance though :D

I think we have a major issue when juries sabotage for a certain country based on the country and not based on the music, regardless if you like the song or not. The juries didn't do their "job", they used their powers to sabotage televoting of their own countries.

Apparently he assume me, a gay guy, would vote on them just because they made me horny

Sorry but that theory is so off, I know lots of people who found the song and performance both cool, fun and entertaining.

The next good result (well, we were theoretically 5th in the televoting) will come in another 20 years.
