To all my Słowianki friends...

Having followed this thread since Donatan and Cleo were first announced as Polish contenders, it genuinely is heart-breaking to know that this thread will soon go quiet and we will go our separate ways. I want to thank you all for making these past few months so entertaining for me. You have no idea how happy I am to have met people who have the same amount of love for this song as I do. During my time on here, I have read so many interesting comments and have spoken to such awesome people. There are no words to describe how much fun I had on here. Thank you for making it worth while! I will miss you... xcry1

Regards,
J!

It won't be the same though... everyone will be too busy with other countries next year! xcry1

The already mentioned song, called Slavica will be published probably tomorrow. "Heavy, bass beat, dripping with sex and great vocal of Cleo, full in English, a modern variation of 'My Slowianie'".

Sounds promising! :)

People who voted for D&C, Cleo said that'd they do free concerts in countries from which they had had the biggest amount of votes. If you liked them, you can go and see them live :)

The PURPOSELY, politically motivated, calculated and cynical SABOTAGE by juries:

SEMI RANKINGS:

UK: Televoting: 1, juries: 15 (last)
Ireland: Televoting: 1, juries: 14 (last)
Lithuania: Televoting: 2, juries: 14 (last)
Austria: Televoting: 2, juries: 12 (third last)

FINAL RANKINGS:

Ireland: Televoting: 1, juries: 26 (last) = 0pts
UK: Televoting: 1, juries: 25 (last) = 0pts
Netherlands: Televoting: 2, juries: 25 (last) = 0pts
Iceland: Televoting: 2, juries: 23 (third last) = 3pts
Norway: Televoting: 1, juries: 19 (bottom 10) = 2pts
Austria: Televoting: 3, juries: 24 (second last) = 0pts
Sweden: Televoting: 3, juries 17 (bottom 10) = 2pts
Belgium: Televoting: 4, juries: 26 (last) = 0pts
Lithuania: Televoting: 4, juries: 24 (third last) = 0pts
Latvia: Televoting: 10, juries: 24 (third last) = 0pts

In some of these cases, it were blatant moves by the national juries who KNEW the entry would be popular with viewers (like in Ireland and UK for instance). I think some of these broadcasters should receive warnings by the EBU for purposely sabotaging for a country based on political motives and not musical!

No: last. Because UK and NL were in the final, so they can only vote for 25 songs, while Ireland was eliminated so can vote for 26.

Oh that's true, well makes the case even clearer then. Regardless, it was an obvious sabotage directed at a country and not a judgment of music or performance. EBU will of course not hand out any warnings, afterall these are all western countries and "can do no wrong", but anyone with a brain can figure out what was going on here.

I've counted the ranking of each juror; this is what I got:

1: 1
2: 2
3: 1
4: 7
5: 4
6: 7
7: 7
8: 3
9: 10
10: 4
11: 5
12: 5
13: 4
14: 2
15: 10
16: 3
17: 6
18: 4
19: 7
20: 6
21: 5
22: 10
23: 16
24: 10
25: 27
26: 9

It means:
1-10: 46
11-20: 52
21-26: 77

Lots of bottom5s, but also a decent amount of top10s. I suppose that it's more prudery than orders from EBU, or they would have dragged down Poland more. xthink
What's impressive is the number of 25th places. Whoever thinks that this was the worse song of the night should be forbidden to take part in a music jury ever! (O)

More proof that it was prudery at work: one of the jurors has been interviewed:
Eurovision judge slams Polish act Donatan & Cleo as 'two boobs too far' | Showbiz | Showbiz & TV | Daily Star. Simply The Best 7 Days A Week

She said: "I’d say it was soft porn. It was two boobs too far for me. I was shocked to see something like that on a family show.
...
Wright concluded: "Families were sitting at home watching, so I don’t think it was right and took away from what the contest is about.

"something like that on a family show"? xfacepalm
Cleo & Donatan really unveiled how much bigotry still exists in our society.
