OMG! It was so unexpected! I missed you so much Poland. xrose

I'm just so happy right now. At least a great piece of news!

So now TVP, just sit down and listen to me :

1) go and get in touch with Sylwia Grzeszczak for an internal selection.

2) send her to Copenhagen with this kind of song

3) get ready to host next year.

Re: POLAND 2014

Yeah, if she goes to ESC she probably should cut it to Sylwia ;D
I personally prefer this song
It would be nice to have Sylwia as representative.

Late night (3.am)... my favourite song about silence ;D Ewa Farna :)

Re: POLAND 2014

I agree, they just need to send a big artist like Sylwia or Donatan & Cleo
I think it'd have the same effect like Anouk had for the Netherlands

(probably) a good result, and then other artists will become interested, just like Ilse & Wayne

True

Poor commentators in case she gets picked.

They would probably cut it Sylwia only .Like :ee: did this year (even though Õigemeel sounds like the easiest surname ever to pronounce compared to *insert Sylwia's surname here*

They may withdraw again but TVP should wonder whether they want to qualify or not. I don't mean that it's not possible to get to the final with an unknown singer, however I guess that sending an established (and talented) one may be a good thing.

I agree with lobywy, I think that Sylwia (for example) would be as successful as Anouk this year.

What do they have to lose? What's the point of coming back if it is not to get better placings?

And we may assume that in case a well known artist participates, there would be a gain of interest from the Polish audience.

At least, they should try once.

Re: POLAND 2014

^ If Poland don't qualify, or flops totally in the final, I'm almost certain they'll withdraw for good (or atleast a longer period).

As for famous Polish acts, the main issue here is that none want to take part in ESC because they don't see how it'll benefit their careers at all. ESC don't have much of a good reputation in Poland (partly to due with the constant Polish flopping), so it's seen as a risk for established acts.

However, TVP is mostly to blame for the flops. Sometimes Poland was underrated, but mostly I must say they didn't deserve much success based on the low quality of the entries sent (it's a shame because in the 90's Poland was a pretty interesting ESC country).

I have no idea what TVP is aiming at, but it would be dumb to comeback with yet another weak attempt.

THIS! It's a bit like now or never. They MUST convince someone very well known to attempt on good result. Change of old team in delegation would be good too. I believe me as well as other Polish fans/users know or heard about not good work of our delegation. They also must hire someone very professional and experienced to prepare stage show. If I remember well, stage act for "Legenda" was prepared by actor of TVP1 series "Klan" Dariusz Lewandowski. He directed a theater play. Seriously? Look at our neighbors from Ukraine, there - highly professional TV director from X-factor and Ukraine Got Talent does the show for Eurovision. Or when there is no show, just simple but effective performance like Alyosha.

Of course famous Polish acts could be scared but that is a work for TVP also, they must create good PR around the contest and artist. Naturally, there will be still plenty of people bashing artist, contest and idea, but let's make them minority. For that we need class act (my opinion).

Most importantly the entry must be good and of quality. During the whole 00's into the 10's we've had entries that were sounding as if they were still on the demo-stage and very amateur-ish. What Poland need first and foremost is a good composer and producer for the entry, just a famous name (although famous names probably have more professional team backing them up) is not enough. In the end of the day, whether they are famous or not won't matter (because they're unknown for the European public). Sure, a famous name would perhaps make this more popular in Poland, which would benefit TVP and ESC's reputation in Poland, however if a famous name would flop then ESC will probably be over in Poland (for good?). Still though, the ideal situation would be a professional somewhat atleast established act with a strong, and interesting enough, entry that doesn't sound unfinished like so many Polish entries did in the past.

Just as you say, it's pretty much now or never for Poland.

I've suggested previous years that they should let a good singer sing a Piotr Rubik composition, something like Psalm dla ciebie. A song like that could fit ESC very well imo.

As for Ukraine, the main difference is that Ukraine have another mentality regarding ESC. They are more hungry for this and see it as an opportunity to show themselves to Europe, wheres Poland don't feel that urge.

Well, ok, but there's another problem. Many Poles love his music, but there is a lot of haters of Rubik too. That won't help make the contest more popular in Poland.
Polish people mostly want Donatan & Cleo with "My Słowianie", but IMO this is not a good option. Too repetitive.
And... I can predict with 60% of certainty that this guy will be representing us (here singing only a cover - he won The Voice):

Ok, I found his own song (not eligible for ESC - too old)

Every act have their haters, I don't see an issue here. There will always be people anti-something, I still think he could compose a fitting entry for ESC. I mean he wouldn't be the act singing anyways, just the composer. Donatan & Cleo would be a cool choice too, risky, but cool. Are they even up for the idea or it's just the public wishing for it?

Oh gosh, not THAT guy! Zero charisma, boring conventional voice, ugly... meh... I mean if Poland aims to send a mix of Armenia 2013 and B&H 2010 xpuke, then I'd say a comeback is completely unnecessary... so I really hope TVP is not sending him tbh. I have a hard time seeing him singing anything remotely likable, but sure I could be wrong... xshrug

Re: POLAND 2014

It's just the public wishing, but I've heard that they are preparing an English version of "My Słowianie", so.... (IMO this song makes sense only if sung in Polish)

I have the same opinion about Mateusz Ziółko, but I'm just predicting the moves of our "dear" public broadcaster.

In English? That would make no sense and probably would destroy the song :/

I hear ya, well it's always nice to get news/rumors/thoughts from locals... but yeah, it would be a mistake of TVP. Although, I could totally see the lame juries in ESC voting for something like that, but I doubt the public would give something like that much support though and a country need both public and jury support to succeed.

If Ruslana can burn herself if Ukraine's president don't change their minds, I can burn myself if My Slowianie get translated & destroyed :p

WHAT did Ruslana do exactly? Ok I know that's totally off-topic, but since you mentioned it? I know she's been an active force in the ongoing demonstrations in Ukraine, but burned herself???
