I would like Poland to send something fresh and original, not something generic that would do well. Donatan in ESC would be too good to be true, but it is the right direction!
It DID bring a lot of votes, enough for 4th place in the semifinal. Just not enough for a certain tasteless bunch. But nvm, let's not start this discussion all over again lach

But juries are the part of this contest so we must include them in calculation for what's best for us, wheter we like it or not...
EDIT: Plus are you 100% sure Cleo would hold on vocally during 2 weeks or rehearsals (not to mention preparations)? Of course they would do "show" (aka circus which Polish public detest) on stage and as we know "death by staging" is no stranger to our delegation.
But juries are the part of this contest so we must include them in calculation for what's best for us, wheter we like it or not...

This! Ingranka WAS popular with the public! A top. 5 is hardly a bad thing!
It was the juries lame fault... however, I don't think EBU want to risk Poland withdrawing AGAIN (and maybe for good) and also there's more comeback in stakes for 2015 (in particular Czech Rep. and Slovakia) if Poland would be somewhat successful... and EBU is aware of what's on stake here, so I actually think Poland could "get away" with not playing it too safe.

I'm not sure about this, you can't force juries to vote for something (unless you bribe them maybe, that's not our case). And "My Słowianie" is not a song of higher aspirations (musically and lyrically). I know what you want A-lister, a song in Polish with ethnic elements. I'd love it too, but in better style I'm just sick when my country sends a song like this. Sure we can afford something ethnic but with much better quality.

Jacek Rakowiecki, TVP spokesman explained to wirtualnemedia.pl that decision on TVP return was based on fact that they maneged to negotiate lower participation fee.

I certainly hope the juries don't give Poland points just to keep them in the contest.
Evija is also right, juries are half the score, forgetting they exist when making the song isn't a good idea. To do well you must please them.

Don't say that, Bulgaria is also a tough loss for Eurovision. You have unique entries! Plus one of my all favourite songs is Na Inat. Having an entry from Bulgaria less in the contest is also very sad. But of course I'm happy we're back, that Portugal is back and BiH too, my dreams would came true if only not Croatia and Serbia withdrawn....

I think I love "My Słowiane" because it reminds me in a certain way to our only succesful turbo-folk song here, in Perú: Tusuy Kusun.

I think if Poland plays their cards right they will get the same result Austria got on their return. Although that probably means getting a type of song that A-Lister hates cause the jury ain't voting for anything like a "Legenda"
. But if we are lucky a "Jestem" (very underrated ) type song will be enough. So now watch them send a song like "For Life"
They certainly won't get the boost Italy got on their return but maybe their Eastern neighbors (who never really voted for them in the first place) will welcome them back with a tiny lift up.
I can't see the EBU letting them fail in the semi after they pretty much begged for them to return.
